One special day a year, the Mustang world unites by taking their Mustangs to the road!

We had a good turn out for our Chick-fil-A breakfast function, the weather wasn't the best so we didn't have a lot of Mustangs in the parking lot. The manager and staff were great, they had some parking spots reserved for us and tables inside. It was good seeing everyone. John & Karen Wishart won the 50/50 drawing and donated their winnings back to the Toys for tots fund.

SMMC BOD 2016: Elected Positions:

Spring is finally here!!! Now is the time to get those cars out, detail them up, and hit the road. There are a lot of great FUNctions, cruises, and shows coming up through the season. April 17th will be National Mustang Day at Moudy’s for SMMC. Bring your car out, show it off, and have some great food. There will also be some attendance prizes. If the weather is bad and you don’t want to bring your Mustang, we would still love to have you bring your daily driver. We will be celebrating rain or shine! We are looking for volunteers to take on positions for our annual Show Me Stampede. I have had a lot of people tell me they couldn’t run a show committee, but in the past few years, I have seen a lot of very talented people working the show. It just happens that these are the same people who told me in the planning phase of the show that they couldn’t do it! Come on, volunteer for a committee chair! You have shown you can do it! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at Moudy’s. Until then, OPEN DOOR…BUCKLE UP…HAMMER DOWN…RUN HARD!!! Tim

SMMC HOTEL INFO: We have a block of rooms at a hotel for SMMC now. Please contact Staci Bilzing for information on the hotel & how to hold a room in your name (we have had trouble in the past with non members seeing our newsletter info & taking rooms in our block so trying to keep secured for members). That weekend is also the NHRA US Nationals in Indy & hotel rooms are very hard to get & price will continue to go up as the events approach. *The Guinness World Record attempt is $15 per car & ends at the Lucas Oil Raceway for the nite qualifying of NHRA. You will be responsible to purchase your own tickets for that thru NHRA we are told. No info on parking situation there if you decide to do that.

May – QuickLane Ford Fest (SMMC Charity Event) – May 14th We need all members to attend & make this a great charity event. We will once again support USO of Missouri & St. Charles Optimist Club with 100% of all monies raised from the raffle, 50/50, donations & BBQ tips to the charities. Display your Ford (remember its all Ford so if your Mustang can’t make it or weather isn’t the best for a Mustang, bring whatever Ford you have & participate). This is rain or shine & as most of you know; the raffle prizes are AMAZING. Several members have won TV’s, gift cards, STL Cards tickets & cool Ford products. Please remember to visit the USO of Missouri website & check their wish list for donation items. As we don’t charge any registration, we ask you to bring donated items & participate in the raffle & 50/50 drawings. We have been able to donate thousands of dollars each year to two very worthy charities. This is 100% donation! We ask that members help with parking & ticket sales & just general event details as needed so everyone gets a break & enjoys some of the event.

May – Blue Oval Rally Hermann, MO Over the Memorial Day weekend, come on out to Hermann and enjoy our annual Blue Oval Rally presented by the Midwest Blue Oval Club. There are a lot of activities including a Kids Korner for your younger ones. There will be free event t-shirts for the first 50 people who register with their car. There is a limit of one event t-shirt per registration. We had a hugely successful show last year & hope to continue with perfect weather & a lot full of Fords for 2016 as we celebrate our 30th year! If you would like to be the show chair; please contact Karen Mitchell ASAP as we need to have show planning in full swing immediately. If there are other areas that you can chair - sponsorship, parking, judging, registration, flyers, awards, etc. please let BOD know now. It's a lot of work for just a couple people to do & all help is appreciated. So many members step up the day of the event & work very hard so you have a feel for how the show functions & if you would like to maybe be more involved with the coordination, we could use the help. For 30 years, we have received wonderful compliments from sponsors, vendors & show participants on how well organized & well run our shows are - that's a direct reflection on our hardworking & dedicated SMMC members - THANK YOU! Cool Whip Cookies

Prep: 15 mins Level: Easy Cook: 8 mins Serves: 24 Cake box cookies are so great for a last-minute snack. Ingredients

Preparation

1 package (18.25 Oz. Box) Cake Mix 1 cup Cool Whip 1 whole Large Egg 1 cup Powdered Sugar

Set oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients, except powdered sugar. Roll a spoonful of dough in powdered sugar. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for about 8 minutes. I love these in lemon and strawberry, and of course … chocolate! Try them, you’ll be glad.
