Definitely the note taking and how professor tierney made sure we had the information we needed and didn't just speed through without allowing us time to write the need to know info Some of the units we covered. I found most of it interesting so it was naturally easy to retain it. lecture The lectures were very good! She explained everything well and I felt I had a good understanding of most topics. Also,since we were required to answer homework problems,I went over the material several times which helped it to stick Professor Tierney taught us from weather to the atmospher to planets! We have learned it all and she is always wiling to help like a great professor should What helped my learning most was being able to connect what we learned to our life here in Oklahoma. I was very interesting and a great way to remember and stay interested in the material. The labs and the lectured Relating new topics with old topics we learned about earlier in the semester helps me retain the old information as well as understand the new material. The effort and time the Proffesor was willing to spend outside of class time to help me review over anything I did not understand in class The labs and the lectures. I loved all aspects of this class. It has been my favorite by far. The teacher's lectures were a huge part to being successful in this class. The labs also had a huge impact as well. The instructor, she was great! Earth science as a whole. The textbook and working in a group with my friends helped very much. We went through a lot of material and the professor kept us on our toes with lab and lecture quizzes. I think that the quizzes and labs kept us on our toes. It is nearly impossible to slack in the class because the professor is expecting a quiz every class period, the student is forced to keep current with material, or receive a bad grade The lectures. Also the possible test questions. Great idea. She had great slideshows daily for our lectures. Her teaching style was really good and she made it fun Unlike most of the kids in this class, I've had a little experience with most of the subjects covered in the class. I did still learn plenty in the class though. When she did labs with us and how she taught the material well. Question: Suggestions for improvement Awesome teacher!! More experiments would be fun!! :) Professor tierney was very approachable and made me feel comfortable enough to email her which I did a lot. I know if I struggled I could let her know and she would consider that and try to help in any way she could. She definitely wants her students to succeed and gets pretty upset if the class has low grades Nothing. She is a great instructor and one of the best I've had at OCCC. no suggestions Professor Tierney is doing very well although her tests are kind of hard but she makes us learn it and does it that way so we can learn it and not just remember it to forget it the next day. Stick with the lecture quizzes because they helped me prepare for the test! Not sure I like that the instructor provides bullet points on the board that mentions what we will talk more about that day and the quizzes at the beginning of class are great study guides to keep our memory fresh with material. Maybe to go slower on certain topics. Loved this class. I wouldn't change anything about it. A lot is expected in this course. I did enjoy it though and learned a lot. I just feel that not everybody was able to keep up with the high expectations at a not so high level course. The hardest part of the class were the exams. I struggled to memorize everything for the exam's. Personally my brain has a hard time comprehending information for exams like this, especially for science. Having to draw and describe everything was really hard for me to do. I didn't like that at all and it caused more stress and anxiety for me. I personally would give exams in the multiple choice and true and false with maybe some short answers, because not everyone will or can test this way. Science is a hard subject for some people. Working and studying with my friends helped me the most because I was able to understand the information better. Overall, I really liked the class a lot I would like to have a review during the class before each exam. The exams are rather difficult, and a review of material would be beneficial. We did hiss sometimes but not for all of them. I would say that mixed questions (multiple answer, and true and false) would result in higher test scores in this class. However, the comprehensive exam style forced me to study very hard and practice writing about the subjects, and for this reason I learned a lot about the material. So, honestly, the exam style is probably better the way it is, because students are really learning the material. Maybe make packets to fill out during notes so studying can be easier for tests. But great job Nothing she did very well with everything. I enjoyed the activities we did in class you made it interesting With Dr. Foster­Wittig's excellent, enthusiastic teaching style, her genuinely wanting everybody to know the subject, I cannot think of a thing that she needs to change. To tell us what the lecture quizzes would be over. Question: Expand I couldn't have completed some parts without the materials I purchased. The textbook and lab manual contributed to my success in this course I did not have a textbook and could find the information online at a edu website for free. we did every single lab in our lab book and I used the textbook to answer homework questions that were due with each exam Everything I learned from Professor Tierney was from the text book except she explained it better for me to understand! We used our books for our homework that we did for every test. The textbook and lab book were used frequently I have had to purchase two books before and end up not ever using one of the two. However, I utilized both books and both helped with my learning. Because we did use our lab book and it helped in what we continued to learn over in class. The class was well structured, and we always had the right materials. I use my book all the time. It is necessary to complete the homework. The lab book was also necessary, as we did labs every Friday; if not more often. The book answered word for word what I needed to know Everything was used thoroughly.

The textbook and lab manual helped very much The textbook and material was all cohesive, but I gained the most information from the professors lectures. Didn't purchase the book but always used the lab manual in labs. Everything was used on a regular basis Although Dr. Foster­Wittig advised most that they would not need the book, I purchased one anyway. It and the lab manual were very helpful at times on the occasions that I did not understand what she was showing us in her lectures. Because we used the lab book all the time and the textbook to do homework.
