LOBURN SCHOOL NEWSLETTER November 9 2017 Innovative - Dynamic - Exciting Phone 3128828 Email
[email protected] Nau mai, hoki mai Dear Parents, Apologies for the lateness of the newsletter. Some meetings take a bit more time than others. Congratulations to all those students that competed in the Tri Schools Sports last week. All of them did extremely well, and many surprised themselves with the results they achieved. There has been some talk amongst the schools about the value of the Tri Schools events. The feedback from many of the parents and the students, is overwhelmingly positive. That it provides another competitive opportunity for the students and continues the community element of the three schools. My own thoughts are that events like this are crucial, and are one of the perks of being at a small school. What is also means is that if you make it to the North Canterbury events, you have earn’t it, and stand a good chance of doing really well at the next level.
The following students will now compete next Tuesday at the Rakahuri Championships. Will Bint, Max Airey, Lachlan Kiddy, Josh Dunnett, Aaron Reavill, Anaru Spivey, Brad Slemint, Josh Monopoli, Sheridan King, Zach Keyte, Harrison Bint, Te Kira Spivey, Jack Hendren, Maggie McDermott, Holly Birnie, Luka Willetts, Katelyn Lumsden, Ella Kelman, Amelia Webb, Rachel Tobeck, Ella Kiddey, Jessica Hendren, Annie Airey, Katie Bartlett, Hannah Udy, Lily Beattie, Phoebe Monopoli, Lucy Moffatt and Kate Strang. These events are held at Ashgrove Park on Kingsbury Ave in Rangiora. As Team East are at Rangiora Borough School for Technology all day on Tuesday, students who are only involved in a 1/2 day programme will need to make their way to or from Rangiora Borough School for technology.

Sunscreen at School As part of our commitment to being a Sunsmart School, each team has a tub of Cancer Society sunscreen (50+) for the students so they can reapply lotion during the day. We recommend all students put sunscreen on before school. For those students that have sensitive skin. If you know your child is allergic to the sunscreen we provide, please ensure they have their own sunscreen. Pool Working Bee Thank you to those families that have offered to help this weekend. We are also going to try and spread some bark around the gardens. If anyone else wants to help, this would be much appreciated. We are looking to start filling the pool next week. Hei konā rā, Stuart
