Summer, 2017 Dear Parents/Guardians and Students, Welcome to the 8th Grade! We are looking forward to an exciting 2017/2018 school year. Eighth grade is a transition year in many ways. We are committed to making this upcoming year one of growth and success. We expect that this will be an educational partnership in which teachers, students, and parents all play an active role throughout the year. Below is a list of supplies that we would like students to have for our classes. Please note that additional supplies may be required for your child’s Unified Arts classes later in the year. 1. Three 2-inch 3-ring binders 2. Dividers for the binders 3. Lined paper (3-hole punched) 4. Pens (blue or black) 5. Pencils/Erasers 6. Colored pencils (optional) 7. Highlighters 8. Ultra-fine black Sharpies 9. Basic calculator with pi (π) key if possible (need only inexpensive calculator) 10. A novel (paperback or hardcover) 11. Book covers that will fit larger texts 12. One or two packs of index cards (lined or unlined) 13. Pen Drive 14. Reinforcements for hole-punched pages (optional) 15. Post-it notes For those of you who plan to participate in sports this year, and especially fall sports, please make sure that you have an up-to-date physical.
