What is the cost of my cosponsored or affiliate study abroad program?

Use the *formula below to estimate the cost of a cosponsored or affiliate semester, short-term, or summer study abroad program. This is the cost that will be posted to your UMD account in lieu of tuition.



Affiliate Program Fees

Determine the affiliate program cost including fees from the affiliate provider’s website Affiliate providers are: AIFS, ASA, API, CEA, ISA, CISabroad, & USAC

Study Abroad Fee

Add the study abroad fee of $1750

+

International Insurance Fee

UMD Internet/ Email Access Fee

+

Add the cost of the required international travel, health and security insurance of $40/mo

Add the cost of the internet/email access fee of $72/semester OR $18/short-term program

Cosponsored Program Discount*

Cosponsored programs receive a discount. Subtract $500 for AIFS, ASA, CEA, ISA and $400 for *API

Study Abroad Program Cost

This is the study abroad program cost in lieu of UMD tuition

No discount is available for short-term, non-cosponsored, and summer programs. Talk to your program coordinator if you plan to participate for more than one semester.

NOTE: If you cancel your program, you are responsible for any non-recoverable cosponsor costs (application fees, deposits etc.) Contact the cosponsor with questions. *This formula does not apply to University of Minnesota system study abroad programs. Contact the respective campus study abroad office for their cost information.
