Topic Information McCall Yellow Pine Road Re-Route (revised name from McCall Stibnite Road Re-Route for clarity): The proposed reroute is a long-time discussion over 25 years to help correct a section of the East Fork Road that continues to slide due to the steep cut slope blocking the road and contributing sediment into the East Fork of the South Fork Salmon River. Until this effort no actual design or cost estimates have been looked at. This quick look using Google Earth elevations is an attempt to start the discussion and see if we can create a positive realignment of the road to eliminate the slide area of concern. We still need to have an actual elevation survey completed to provide real numbers to work from. East Fork South Fork Salmon River Grand Plan Matrix: The EFSFSR Grand Plan Matrix is a working draft proposal. The Grand Plan Matrix includes project descriptions, links to site maps, as well as recommendations based upon feedback and the work of interest group leaders. Feedback should find balance of the needs of outstanding rights (including mineral interest, private property rights, and tribal), recreation, and restoration within the current long-range Forest Service Travel Management plan. Big Creek Ramp: The BCRAMP Decision was made in April 2017 and the Forest Service began implementation with road improvements and restoration in summer 2017. The BCRAMP EA and Decision Notice decided that Valley County would be granted a FRTA easement for converting the Smith Creek ATV trail to a County Road. The reconstruction to facilitate conversation of the trail to a road would be the responsibility of the County. Upgrades to the road would include, among others, a bridge to span the main Smith Creek near the junction with the Pueblo Summit road. No work began on the Smith Creek road in 2017. Smith Creek Road: In 2014 the Forest Service paid to have a 50% design completed for the Smith Creek Ford. The design gave us options for a ATV ridge, TOV bridge and Highway legal bridge. Members of the Collaborative have stated that there are private funding sources to improve access. The Payette National Forest would like to discuss the plan for implementation of the road work on Smith Creek and funding partnerships with the Collaborative.
