Thefollowingis a briefsummaryof the duesowedto our members: Basicsalary:December2011, January2012,and February 2012 LayoverAllowance:December2011,January2012,February2012,and March2012 FfyingAllowances:November 2011,December 2011,January2012,and February 2012 Thisamountsto withholding approximately morethana QUARTERof the yearly emoluments. Thisnon-payment of dueshascausedtremendous hardships to our members. A numberof ourmembershailfromhumblebackgrounds andmodestmeans.While somehaveavailededucationloansin orderto completetheirflighttrainingothershave financialcommitments towardstheirparentsandsiblings.The non-payments of dues for an extendedtimeperiodhascausedthemsignificant financialhardshipand psychological stress.A numberof membershavewrittento us thattheyare undergoing severepsychological stressas financial institutions andbanksare hounding themin repay orderto theirloans. Whilewe appreciate thefinancial distress facingthe company, howeverunlikeAir India, whichcanturnto the centralgovernment for funds,employeeshaveno suchoption. The respective employees andtheirfamiliesalonehaveto sufferthe humiliation of loan defaults andthe ensuingpsychological stress. Youwillcertainlyappreciate that in orderto ensurethe safetyof the passengers and the crew,a pilotis requiredto maintainthe highestlevelof alertnessandconcentration. Thefinancialhardshipcausedby the non-payment of salariesfor suchan extended periodmayadversely affectthe abilityof theflightcrewto safelydischarge theirduties.
