Audience Response P4, M4, D4 The audience will view my work at my BlogSpot; http://calvinsquibbanimation.blogspot.co.uk/. Here they will be able to view my game trailer and web banner via links to their location. I’m going to find out from the audiences responses: If the Audience can identify the genre of my game from the game trailer and web banner I will find this out by asking the questions “Based on what you saw from my Game Trailer, what genre do you think my game is” and “Based on what you saw from my Web Banner, what genre do you think my game is”. This question will provide a text box so that the person filling out the questionnaire can have a wide choice of what they thought. If the audience can understand the narrative/story of my game from the game trailer and web banner I will find this out by asking the questions “Based on what you saw from my Game Trailer, what do you think the narrative of my game is” and “Based on what you saw from my Web Banner, what do you think the narrative of my game is”. The question will proved a paragraph text box with a help text telling them to summarise what they thought the narrative of my game might be. If the audience can identify characters from my game from the game trailer and web banner I will find this out by asking the questions “Based on what you saw from my Game Trailer, can you recognise characters that are from my game” and “Based on what you saw from my Web Banner, can you recognise characters that are from my game”. The question will provide a text box allowing the person filling out my questionnaire to write something along the lines of; they recognised all of the characters, some of the characters or none of the characters. If the audience can identify the use of technical qualities, aesthetic qualities and creative qualities, in the game from the game trailer and web banner I will find this out by asking the questions “Based on what you saw from my Game Trailer, can you identify what techniques are used in my game and Based on what you saw from my Web Banner, can you identify what techniques are used in my game”. The question will provide a text box that will allow them to write something along the lines of; just technical qualities, technical qualities and aesthetic qualities or all of the techniques. There will also be help text explaining what the techniques are as they are not listed in the question itself.

Collecting of Audience Response I designed my questionnaire in order to meet the unit specification of Unit 37 2D Animation Production. The age and gender has to be an essential question that is asked with opinions of how good or bad the thing is your asking them was by having multiple choices and an improvements question with a paragraph text box. This will then give me a variety of responses from all of the questions I have asked. Overall this will give me the best responses so that I can analyse, evaluate and prepare an action plan from. I will ask questions so that I can achieve the unit specification by including multiply choice and text based questions. An example of a multiple choice question would be “What gender are you?” will would usually include the choices Male or Female and the question “How Old Are You?” will would include choices such as 16 - 17. However text based questions like “What parts of my Game Trailer did you enjoy the most?” will usually have a text box or a paragraph text box depending on if you want a long or short answer. I will be collecting audience responses in a questionnaire that are produced with Google drive and there everyone will be able to access it and fill it out effectively because there will be a link to it on my blog post where both my web banner and game trailer are. This is a link to my questionnaire: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12SoLfgDMxE4DcpOpw9N2YXsPI1sjpmN1NzzsR4ps25s/viewform? usp=send_form

Analysing Once I’ve collected the data from my questionnaire from excel sheet that was created when I first made in on Google drive then I can now analyse and produce an evaluation of my work. I will do this by analysing specific data from the questions I asked like for example gender, age and knowledge and that will be shown through pie charts, percentages and other charts.

The results of the question “What Gender Are You?” were that 60% of the people who filled out my questionnaire were male and that 40% were females. This tells me that mostly males filled out my questionnaire.

The results of the question “How Old Are You?” were that 36.7% of the people who filled out my questionnaire were 16 – 17, 28.6% were 18 – 19, 14.3% were 19 – 20, 12.2% were above 20 and 8.2% were under 16. This tells me that mostly people between the ages of 16 – 17 filled out my questionnaire.

The results of the question “How well was the animation in my game trailer?” were that 52.1% found my game trailer very good, 22.9% found it good, 10.4% found it ok, 8.3% found it was exactable and 6.3% found it bad. This tells me that half of the people that filled out my questionnaire found that it was very good and nearly a quarter found it good, the rest of the people that filled out my questionnaire tell me that it could do with some improvements.

The results of the question “How well was the animation in my web banner?” were that 34% found my game trailer very good, 30% found it good, 8% found it ok, 14% found it was exactable, 12% found it bad and 1% found it very bad. This tells me that quarter of the people that filled out my questionnaire found that it was very good and nearly a quarter found it good, the rest of the people that filled out my questionnaire tell me that it could do with improvements.

How well the audience enjoyed my game trailer and web banner The results of the question “How well did you enjoy my Game Trailer?” were that 38.8% of the people who filled out my questionnaire found it very enjoyable, 34.7% found it enjoyable, 10.2% found it was ok, 14.3% found it was expectable and 1% found it wasn’t enjoyable. This tells me that quarter of the people that filled out my questionnaire found it very enjoyable and a quarter found it was enjoyable, the rest of the results tell me that I could do with improvements.

The results of the question “How well did you enjoy my Web Banner?” were that 52.1% of the people who filled out my questionnaire found it very enjoyable, 22.9% found it enjoyable, 10.4% found it was ok, 8.3% found it was expectable and 6.3% found it wasn’t enjoyable. This tells me that half of the people that filled out my questionnaire found it very enjoyable and a quarter found it was enjoyable, the rest of the results tell me that I could do with some improvements.

Overall Evaluation I found out that my game trailer’s animation from the responses I got was that it was very good, smooth, and creative. I myself liked the animation because it added a cartoon and comical effect and am therefore proud about the responses that I got. Some of the responses say that the animation gave the trailer humour which was what I was going for. I found out that the improvements I need to make to my game trailer are that some of the sounds overlap each other and creates a bad effect and even though people enjoyed the animation I still think there are specific scenes were the animation need improving. My audience response agrees with this by the analysis I carried out with responses about the some of the sound being out of place or playing when it shouldn’t be. Also there were a minor number of responses that agreed with me saying that certain scenes need improving.

I found out that my web banner’s animation from the responses I got was that it was overall good, amusing, and creative. I myself liked the animation because it added a cartoon and comical effect and am therefore proud about the responses that I got. Some of the responses say that they liked specific animation scenes. I found out that the improvements I need to make to my game trailer are that sounds could be improved or be change to a higher quality and that the animation can match the standard of that of my game trailer. My audience response agrees with this by the analysis I carried out with responses about the sound being not suiting were it was placed or that the laser beam sound effects could be better. Also there were responses about changing the animation of only specifics scenes like the laser beam of one of the characters. Action Plan From the results from my analysis and evaluation, I will carry out an action plan which will mean carrying out the improvements that have I have found out from the analysis and evaluation. The improvements that I will make are changing and/or adjusting the sound and improving the animation is specific scenes in the game trailer and web banner. I will carry this out by looking back at my original sound effects and images and change them or upgrade them to I higher quality.
