BUSWAY SUPPORTS ARE SUPPLIED BY OTHERS WITH THE MAXIMUM SPACING BETWEEN HANGER OF 10'-0". A VARIETY OF HANGERS ARE AVAILABLE TO SUIT MOST SITUATIONS (SEE CATALOG).

Tools needed to install Busway: Installation tool (provided). 1/8" allen wrench and a slotted head screw driver. Two men are needed to install a 10ft. section of B250T5 Plug-in Busway. 1

Begin installation at one end of the Busway, preferably at the end at the customer supplied power source. If an end feed box is used, it can be attached before or after, to the first section of Busway prior to the installation of the Busway on the supports. Insure the polarizing stripe on the first housing matches the end feed housing. 3 Insert hanger bolts into the hanger channel of the Busway. Secure this section to the busway supports. Install the next section in a similar manner.

Install the EC250T5 End Cap at the end of the Busway run and tighten the set screws to secure it in place.

Install the ELL or TEE onto the end of the Busway section by using the installation tool supplied with your order. The ELL or TEE can be installed onto the Busway section before or after suspention. The ELL or TEE installs like a standard section. Check to be sure that all screws are tight and all electrical connections are secure.

Install the JK250T5G-1 kit. Insert the B-A-G Bus Connector inside the slot of the Busway. Ensure the connector is centered on the joint. Push the Bus Connector in until seated. Insert 6 intallation tool in side the slot of the Busway at joint. Position the collar around Busway housing. The radius on the tool should be positioned against the Bus Connector cover. Using the lever, rotate installation tool and release. Work toward end of blade cover until copper blades are firmly seated into channels. Repeat for C-N Bus Connector. If copper blades are not seated repeat step 6.

The ELL's or TEE's are designed to carry power around a corner or "T" intersecton. Warning: Plug-in Units cannot be installed into an ELL or TEE. You must be a minimum of 6 inches away from the Housing Couplers on the Busway to install a Plug-in Unit. 8

Insert a pair of BHCT5-1 Housing Couplers onto one housing. The BHCT5-1 and the hanger channel of the Busway are Polarized. Insure they are aligned before inserting them. Position the bottom one away from the joint. Align the Busway with the adjacent Busway section. Center the top BHCT5-1 housing coupler around the joint and tighten the set screws securely.

Check to make sure that you have the appropriate ELL or TEE for the direction of travel. Refer the illustration on right.

Remove tool. Now center the bottom BHCT5-1 and tighten. Tighten hanger bolts.

For field wiring: Remove the lug from the end feed block. Attach wire to lug. Reinstall back on block. In some cases it may be possible to install wire into the lug with out removing the lug from the block. This will accept up to 300MCM cable. Secure by tightening the set screw to 275 in.-lbs. Repeat for the remaining connections.

TITLE

The aluminum housing is etl listed for use as a ground conductor. The plug-in units that are bolted to the Busway can be grounded through the housing. Extension of this ground to the customer's equipment should be done in a manner to comply with the National Electric Code. 8

The EF250T5-4/EF250T5N-4/EF250T5G-4/EF250T5NG-4/ End Feed Units are used to make field wiring connections to the B250T5/B250T5N/B250T5G/B250T5NG Busway at the end of a run. The End Feed box installs like a standard section. Wiring connections are made to the copper blades by means of aluminum box style lugs.
