Applying to your Major
Liberal Education Information
Students can apply to the major at z.umn.edu/applycsciba when they are eligible. Admission to the major is competitive and only guaranteed to students with a 3.2 or higher technical GPA. Any student below a 3.2 technical GPA will be considered for admission based on the space available in the department. The students with the best technical GPAs below 3.2 will be considered for the remaining spots in the department. Students are able to apply to the major twice. Students with less competitive technical GPAs should research alternative major options.
