Discipline Policy

You will sign for every tardy​ . Because of the situation in the portables, I realize that at times students will need a couple of minutes more to get to class. I will become well versed on every student‛s schedule. These consequences are for those students who abuse the passing period. 1​st​ Tardy ~ Warning 2​nd​ Tardy ~ Warning/Phone Call Home 3​rd​ Tardy ~ D-Hall/Phone Call Home 4​th​ Tardy ~ Office Referral

1​st​ Infraction ~ Verbal Warning 2​nd​ Infraction ~ Phone Call or E-mail Home 3​rd​ Infraction ~ D-Hall 4​th​ Infraction ~ Parent Conference 5​th​ Infraction ~ Staffing with parent, student, counselor, and/or administrator 6​th​ Infraction ~ OFFICE REFERRAL ***These consequences are for general classroom discipline issues. Issues of a more serious nature could skip infraction steps or result in a direct referral to the office. ***Cell phones used for anything other than classroom activities are confiscated and taken to the office. Parents are required to pick up the phone.

Grading Policy Daily Assignments (minimum of 12 assignments)…….….40% ● Components of the Writing Process (prewriting, revision, grouping) ● Reading Responses ● Writer‛s Notebook Entries ● Quizzes ● Oral Participation ● Homework ● Exit Slips Major Assignments (two to three for the six weeks)………...60% ● Compositions taken through the process or collections of writings ● Projects ● Assessments ● Writer‛s Notebook/Class Participation Late Work will not receive full credit.​ Work one day late starts with a grade of 75. Work two to five days late starts with a grade of 60. No late work will be accepted after a week.
