PERMIT PARKING As authorized by an agreement with the City of Cincinnati, off-street parking in the District is controlled by the BLHD Group. The Group manages and maintains four parking lots in the District for the benefit of the community. A paid permit is required to park in each space.

Which parking lots are managed by the Group?

The BLHD Group officially manages two lots owned by the District (B and C) and two owned by the City of Cincinnati (D and E), in accordance with the Hamilton County Auditor website. The map highlights and identifies each of the four locations, which are accessible via John, Hopkins, or Chestnut Streets.* All spaces in these lots are reserved for those who have signed a parking lease and purchased a permit.

What is the cost to reserve a parking space?

The Group assesses a fee of $55.00 per quarter to reserve a single space, amounting to only $18.33 per month.

How will the Group use the money it collects?

Revenue from parking reservations is used primarily to offset operating expenses. Service and maintenance costs associated with the lots include electricity, sewer, taxes, pavement, and landscaping. The Group may also elect to contribute from this fund for neighborhood improvement projects within the District. Surplus revenue from City-owned Lots D and E must be transferred to the City of Cincinnati after expenses are paid.

Community residents may reserve space(s) on a quarterly basis. Spaces are numbered and assigned. Lots are illuminated for convenience and security. Litter removal and general upkeep is provided. Reserved parking is enforced by an agreement with a towing company.

How is reserved parking enforced?

The Group has arranged for a towing company to monitor the lots and remove any vehicle that does not clearly display an official parking permit, which must be valid for the space and current quarter.
