Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) agreement The purpose of the BYOD policy is to recognize the value of these tools in an educational environment and to allow teachers the flexibility to make use of student personal devices for educational work in the classroom. Teachers will have ultimate control of how and when the devices will be used in individual classrooms. By signing this agreement which allows your child(ren) to bring a device to school, you are agreeing to abide by the following requirements. Any violation of this agreement may result in suspension of this privilege and/or disciplinary action. 1. The sole purpose for the use of an Electronic Device during the school day is for educational reasons. 2. The Electronic Device is only to be used during the instructional class period with express permission of the classroom teacher. This may mean that the device will be permitted for some instructional activities but not for all. 3. The Electronic Device must use the district’s network. 4. Students must comply with all District and building policies and procedures, including the building’s handbook, the district’s Acceptable Use Policy, and the KCS oneTOone guidelines. 5. Students and Parents must recognize that all Electronic devices are brought to school at the owner’s risk. Kenton City Schools is not responsible for theft or damage to the Electronic Device.
