Miami-Dade County Public Schools Center for Professional Learning The Center for Professional Learning provides the following research-based learning experiences, programs, and resources for educators and support personnel in order to promote implementation of proven instructional and leadership practices that support student learning gains: Master In-service Plan Identify the components of professional learning that may generate master in-service points toward recertification or add-on certification o Components in MIP are deliverables of the professional development system and a major support in addressing the purposes of district systems and individual deliberate practice Professional Development System Evaluation Protocol Assess the local planning, learning, implementation, and evaluation of professional development activities according to standards modeled after the Learning Forward standards as well as Florida statutory requirements Professional Development Liaison Conduct training sessions on MyLearningPlan PDMS, Lesson Study, Professional Learning Communities Assist PD Liaisons in strategically planning professional development programs Professional Learning Support Team (PLST) Train and assist team members in implementing a professional development program that is jobembedded and research based Alternative Professional Preparation Program (AP3) Provide professional preparation and education competence for career-changers and recent college graduates who do not already possess a Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate Clinical Educator Training Provide state required program for all school district personnel and instructional personnel who supervise or direct teacher preparation students during field experience courses or internships Endorsement Program Provide all courses that are necessary to become endorsed in Autism, Coaching, ESOL, Gifted and Reading in the state of Florida o Autism, Coaching endorsement courses are offered in face-to-face format while the ESOL, Gifted, and Reading courses are offered both online and face-to-face Student Intern Placement Program (SIPP) Collaborate with higher institutions of learning to place practicum level students and those students required to complete hours in a clinical training internship with faculty supervision at MDCPS schools
