Join the extreme adventure! Work alongside CleanScapes, the Bald Eagle Boys Camp Comrades, & Lock Haven University students as we collect litter & tires from a wild & scenic West Branch Susquehanna Island! 1. Terrain is mixed-flat & undulating cobbles, sand & topsoil. 2. Long pants and long sleeved shirts are recommended. Tick/bug spray repellent, gloves, and trash bags provided by CleanScapes. 3. Lunch & refreshments provided to all registered participants. On-site picnic style pizza luncheon & refreshments served at 2:00 PM. Meeting location & driving directions will be provided after you register with Clinton County CleanScapes.
Island & Mainland Volunteer Cleanup Opportunities 1. Island & Land Cleanup Teams. Collect trash & tires from the island, or work on the mainland & help unload boats or load the items into the roll-off dumpster. Closed toed shoes are mandatory-knee high/ waterproof boots recommended (no bare feet or sandals). An extra jacket, hat, sunscreen, socks/shoes are highly recommended. Goal: Remove 35+ tires & bag litter from the island. (If needed, volunteers will be provided motorized boat transport to the island.) 2. Photographer. Documenting the event is very important & fun! Bring your camera & take photographs or short video clips of the volunteers in action. Email the photos/video to CleanScapes. Registration is requested by 12 noon, April 12.
