It has been brought to the notice of NFIR that Dr Budhdev Bishi & Dr. Vipro Das (HomeopathicDoctors)working on contractbasisin Health Units/Hospitalson East Central& EasternRailway respectivelyare being denied continuationby the Raihvay authoritiesupto the age 65 years inspite of Railway Board's instruction vide No.E(Wi2003/WE-l/3 dated 02/0712003 for continuanceof Homeopathicand AyurvedicDoctorsupto the ageof 65 years. 2. Federation has been given to understand that both the above-named Homeopathic/AyurvedicDoctors were engagedsome 20/25 years ago by the respective Zonal Railwaysi.e. prior to issuanceof Railway Board's letterdated 0210712003, underthe termsand ecnditionsthat they could continueupto the age of 65 yearsof age.Their discontinuationbefore attainingthe ageof65 yearsofage doesnot appearto bejustified. 3. NFIR has also been advised that similar recommendationfor continuancehas been receivedfrom EastemRailway which deservesto be consideredsympatheticallyin favour of doctors. In this connection, Eastern Railway's letter No.SBF/FIomeo/Staff/Vol.IXdated 3110312014 may be connected(Copy enclosed). Federation,therefore,urgesthe Railway Board to issuesuitableinstructionsto all Zonal Railways more particularly East Central and EasternRailways to continue the services of Homeopathic/Ayurvedic Doctors early. A copy of the instructionsissuedmay be endorsedto NFIR.
