Accounting I COURSE CURRICULUM

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is the first part of a two semester course; it is strongly recommended that both semesters of accounting be taken in the same year. Students will develop basic principles and practices of accounting, with an emphasis on the financial records of a sole proprietorship service business. Daily transactions, specialized journals, financial statements, financial statement analysis, accounting software activities, and some corporate accounting records are included. This course is articulated with Elgin Community College (must take Accounting II as well).
