Cubmaster/Committee Roundtable Agenda November 9, 2017 December Core Value: A Scout is KIND Theme: Paying It Forward At this pack meeting, Cub Scouts will learn the importance of treating others as they want to be treated. Although it is nice when someone does something kind for you, it is even more rewarding to do something kind for someone else— without expecting anything in return. I. Pack Meeting Information

Cubmaster Minute: ( Good “Reflection” example) “Acts of kindness that are helpful to our friends, our family, and our community create a wonderful domino effect. Those we help will think about what they can do to spread kindness to others. We can do nice things for others every day, and we should not expect something in return— for we are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. We are Scouts!” 2. Pay It Forward Tune (If You’re Happy and You Know It) You can help to pay it forward. Yes, you can! You can help to pay it forward. Yes, you can! We can make the day much brighter. Helping makes the load much lighter. You can help to pay it forward. Yes, you can! You can open doors for others. Yes, you can! You can help to carry groceries. Yes, you can! Be kind to everyone you meet. Help whenever you see a need. You can help to pay it forward. Yes, you can! January Core Value: A Scout is HELPFUL Theme: Jobs, Jobs, Jobs There are many ways that people can be helpful. One way is by volunteering time to help others. Cub Scouts, Scout leaders, and coaches are examples of volunteers. Another way people help is by doing jobs that provide a service. This month we celebrate those who help out in their homes, schools, and communities. II. Pack Meeting Information A http://www.scouting.org/filestore/cubscouts/pdf/2017/310-842(17)_January_Helpful.pdf Highlights include: Tool ID Game, Salute to Working Men & Women, Round Robin with Working Professionals, Song I’ve Been Working Helping Others , Rank Advancements in Hats w/cheer, Closing Helpful Ceremony. 1. Cubmaster Minute: ( Good “Reflection” example) “A Scout is helpful. You have had the opportunity through your adventures to learn about people who help others through their jobs or volunteer roles. We know that, in being helpful, we do things for others without expecting others to tell us “thank you.” But doesn’t it feel good when others do tell you “thank you”? The words “thank you” are two simple but very important words. I thank you for the service that you have given and that you will give. I also challenge each of you to tell people that you appreciate what they have done to help you. Thank you.” 2. I’ve Been Working Helping Others Tune: “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad” I’ve been working helping others All the livelong day, I’ve been working helping others; It’s the best part of the day. This work makes me very happy.
Makes others feel good, too. It’s all part of being helpful, And that’s what Cub Scouts do. Everyone can help. Everyone can help. Oh, everyone can help, that’s tru-u-ue. You and you and you (point around group), Everyone can help. Oh, everyone can help—that’s true! III.
