Development Advisory for Members of Parliament We’re hiring! MPower is an MP’s shadow think tank, policy consultant, strategy adviser and development planner. Our objective is to bring professional skills and development experience to the MP’s constituency. We’re looking for young, dynamic, idealistic (and adventurous!) people to join our core team and help build this new initiative. MPower is being incubated under SEEDS - the non-profit arm of IL&FS Education, Skills & Clusters. Eligibility & Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Work, Law, Engineering, Mass Communications or related fields. Master’s degree in similar fields preferred but not required 2. At least 2 years of work experience, OR high intensity internships/fellowships involving project work, policy research, field work (eg: Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellows, LAMP Fellows, Young India Fellows etc.) 3. Some familiarity with Government of India policies and programmes 4. Excellent communication skills in English, with fluency in at least one Indian language 5. Ability to interact confidently with a wide range of stakeholders including government officials, journalists, community based organizations and constituents of the MPs 6. Strong analytical skills, ability to contribute original ideas, take ownership of small initiatives and problem-solving attitude 7. Willingness to travel Responsibilities: Your work would involve research on government schemes, data analysis, strategy and planning with MPs and other stakeholders. You may be required to travel to constituencies, monitor the work of our district based young professionals, prepare for and manage joint reviews of the project by committees of academics, government officials, and MPs. You would be expected to understand and leverage the expertise of the parent company in various sectors.
