JOB DESCRIPTION Battle Ground School District
DISTRICT AUDITORIUM COORDINATOR Purpose Statement: The job of District Auditorium Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of coordinating the use of the district auditorium by rental groups and/or for school sponsored activities.
Essential Functions • Adapts existing digital control systems to accommodate rental and/or touring company interface equipment for the purpose of creating a variety of effects in both lighting and sound.
• Administers first aid to students, performers and renters in facility for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
• Analyzes renter data, technical drawings, sketches, and plans for the purpose of developing best practices for
meeting production requirements while ensuring safety and staying within budget limitations; and for the purpose of providing training to enrolled students.
• Calculates costs of plans, drawings, and sketches for the purpose of providing designers, directors and other interested staff of the budgetary impact of construction choices while maintaining budget limits.
• Collaborates with in-district users, public renters, professional designers and directors providing for their technical needs for the purpose of supporting program development.
• Coordinates the use of equipment with various groups (e.g. ASB offices, instructional staff, building administration,
community and professional groups) for the purpose of providing services and facilitating school, district and community programs.
• Maintains inventory and condition of power tools and lighting/sound equipment in the facility for the purpose of ensuring safe operation and reporting of equipment usage.
• Operates specialized control programs for theatrical ighting instruments, analog and digital sound reproduction
systems, counterweight fly rail system, and a variety of power tools (e.g. table, band, radial arm and compound miter saws; drills, grinders) for the purpose of providing training to enrolled students and producing quality programs.
• Reports incidents (e.g. accidents, theft, misuse of equipment) for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment for students, staff and public.
• Trains, Supervises, And Monitors the work of student assistants individualizing instruction based on previous experience and technical sophistication for the purpose of providing technical education in a safe environment.
Other Functions • Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: health standards and hazards, digital lighting control, photometrics, acoustics/sound design, theatrical construction, and the latest advances in technology and products. ABILITY is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a wide variety of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: working with detailed information/data, adapting to changing work priorities, communicating with diverse groups, meeting deadlines and schedules.
Responsibility Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; and directing the use of budgeted funds within a work unit. Utilization of significant resources from other work units is routinely required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the Organization’s services.
Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 15% sitting, 40% walking, and 45% standing. The job is performed under some hazardous conditions and in a clean atmosphere. Experience
