REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS ARCHITECT, Wheeler Hall Auditorium Improvements The Berkeley Campus of the University of California requests that interested firms submit written proposals to provide design services for the following proposed project: Wheeler Hall Auditorium Improvements Project No. 12687A Estimated Construction Cost: $1.8 million dollars The project will consist of architectural improvements to an existing auditorium including accessibility improvements, seating, limited finish upgrades, audio visual improvements and stage improvements. SCOPE OF SERVICES • Work with University stake holder team including General Assignment Classroom Manager and Interior Design Consultant to assess program requirements, existing conditions, access issues, etc. • Full design services, through Construction Administration, including all sub-consultants. PROPOSAL CONTENT Proposal must not exceed 10 pages and shall provide sufficient information to allow the University to evaluate the Consultant’s approach, experience, staff and availability. Proposals shall include the following information: • Discussion of Consultant’s approach to projects • Description of completed similar projects, including a client contact and phone number for at least (5) projects ranging from $1m to $2m in construction value. • Resumes of staff to be assigned to the project and a statement regarding availability of staff to begin the project. The respondent must submit three (3) copies of the proposal, each signed by an authorized representative of the Consultant. Proposals must be submitted to arrive no later than 2:00 p.m. 4:00 on April 19, 2016 to: 21 Contract Administration University of California, Berkeley 1936 University Avenue, 2nd Floor Berkeley, CA 94604 E-mail: [email protected] SELECTION PROCESS The University will review all proposals then select and rank the three most qualified Consultants. The selection and ranking shall be based on the criteria listed below. The order in which the criterial appear does not indicate the importance, ranking or weighing that will be used in the evaluation. 1. Proposed approach to the project

2. Past experience of the firm in performing similar projects. 3. Experience of staff to perform the services required by the Projects. The University shall negotiate with the highest ranked Consultant of tasks, staffing, schedule and a maximum not-to exceed fee. Negotiations may be formally terminated if they fail to result in a contract within a reasonable amount of time. Negotiations will then ensue with the second ranked Consultant, and if necessary, the third ranked Consultant.
