SEARCH FOR 2017 BEST GULAYAN SA PAARALAN IMPLEMENTER
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10068 also known as "Organic Agriculture Act of 2010" and Regional Memorandum No. 266 s. 2016 also known as "Integrated School Nutrition Mode! in CALABARZON"; this office is very proud to announce that there will be a search for 2017 Best Gulayan sa Paaralan Implementer. The objective of this activity is to ensure that all public schools (elementary, junior and senior high schools) in this Division have a functional Gulayan sa Paaralan capable of producing chemical free and nutritious vegetables to support the school's feeding program to alleviate malnutrition. Guidelines for the search for 2017 Best Gulayan sa Paaralan Implementer a. The Gulayan sa Paaralan has to be sustainable and should be able to supply chemical free and nutritious vegetables to support the school's feeding program and improve the nutritional status of the identified wasted and severely wasted pupils/learners. b. The search for the 2017 Best Gulayan sa Paaralan Implementer is open to all public schools in this Division. The competition will have two (2) categories, the Bio-Intensive Gardening (BIG) and the Bio-Aero Gardening (BAG). c. Schools will be grouped according to: (a) Medium, (b) Large, and (c) Mega school. There will be a separate evaluation and awarding for the elementary and (Junior and Senior High School combined). There will be three (3) winners for each group per category provided that the schools within that group will qualify for sixty (60) points minimum requirements. The first three schools with the highest points above sixty points requirement shall receive an award. d. In an event that schools under a particular category will not reach the minimum required points, the selection team shall declare NO WINNER for the said category. I - Bio Intensive Gardening (BIG): schools with 150 sq. meters and above (a) Medium Schools (b) Large Schools (c) Mega Schools II - Bio Aero-Gardening (BAG): Garden in pots and/or 149 sq. meters below (a) Medium Schools (b) Large Schools (C) Mega Schools e. All schools are REQUIRED to plant their crops using BIG and/or BAG approach, however, for the purpose of selecting the 2017 Best Gulayan sa Paaralan Implementer the rule "strictly one school one category entrV' will be applied. f. As Means of Verification (MOV), the documents that must be presented and submitted during the evaluation should have a date of January 1, 2016 up to the time of evaluation ONLY. Documents that will be presented with a date earlier than January 1, 2016 will have no bearing in the point system except for the following documents: SIP/AIP/MOA. Ensure that the documents that will be submitted are aligned to the prescribed criteria to have a bearing in the point system. g. It is also important that ELEMENTARY schools should comply with Division Memorandum entitled Strengthening the Implementation of Regional Memorandum No. 266 s. 2016 otherwise known as Implementation of the "Integrated School Nutrition Model in CALABARZON" dated September 21, 2016; although No direct bearing with the point system, the following should be available I visible at all times: - Video Advocacy Material - Documentation of advocacy program to parents and other stakeholders - Displaying of IIRR advocacy materials in conspicuous places in school - Evidences of tie-up with LGU and support from Barangay Nutrition Scholar - Partnership with other external stakeholders - Compilation of all daily lesson log, learning materials, documentation and other related educational materials used for NUTRITION EDUCATION (for learners and Parents) h. Interview, observation, document analysis and other relevant activities shall be utilized to verify and validate the authenticity of the records. i. The decision of the judges is final, hence, it is unappealable.
