Principal’s Report
Subject contribution payments are due before the end of Term 1. These payments cover your child’s learning resources and use of devices for the year and total $130. I hope everyone has got their colours and barracking voices ready for the Swimming Sports tomorrow. Please remember to pack plenty of snacks, lunch and drinks for the day. We would love to see as many families and friends along to enjoy the day as well. A reminder: if you are taking your child/ren home from the pool you must sign them out with either their classroom teacher or Mrs Stone who will be supervising the gate. This is necessary so all children are accounted for when we return on the bus. Good luck and have fun everyone! School arrangements I will be taking Sick Leave tomorrow for 2 weeks. In my absence Mr Saddlier will be Acting Principal. Please direct any information, concerns to him. School Building Works What an exciting time that our new school has finally commenced. I want to thank all our families for their consideration at this time. By next week we will have much more play area back and the building work will begin. Please remember, you should only be on school grounds if you are volunteering in classrooms, have appointments with a teacher/principal/chaplain or office business. MINECRAFT TERM 2 If your child would like to sign up for Minecraft for Term 2, please fill a form in, available from the office. HATS AND UNIFORMS Hats and uniforms are available from Uniform Plus, 56 Williamson Street, Bendigo 3550. HATS—LOST AND FOUND Can all parents please check the names on their children’s hats. It is very easy to pick up a hat that doesn’t belong. A permanent marker will be available from the Office to name black hats. If buying a new hat, the preference for Phys Ed is the hat with a string tie on it please.
LUNCH TIME GUITAR LESSONS Do you have a child who would like to participate in private guitar lessons at school? These are held once a week, on Wednesday, for half an hour at lunch time. Children will need their own guitar and payment is made directly to the guitar teacher. All you have to do is send your child along with their guitar and money on Wednesday.
BREAKFAST CLUB ROSTER We are lucky to have breakfast 3 times a week at Epsom which is run by a small group of volunteers, who we thank very much. I would like to call for more volunteers to help our with breakfast. You might get your own group of volunteers together and run a different sort of program than the current one. It’s a great way to get to know students, staff and other parents. Please let Deanne know in the office if you are keen to get involved. Breakfast operates from 8.15am and finishes around 8.45am so please consider putting your hand up.
GRADE 5 CAMP PGL, CAMPASPE DOWNS. Monday 20th March students are to meet at the Epsom Train Station at 8am—NO LATER. Wednesday 22nd March students need to be picked up from the Epsom Train Station at 2.30pm. Payment, permission forms and medical notes must be returned before departure.

COMMUNITY NEWS Bendigo Senjuns Hockey club We have a registration day coming up on March 5th from 11.30-1.30pm and are looking for players to join our under 11, under 13, under 15 and under 17 teams. Some of schools have participated in the HV roadshows currently or in the past and would love any child interested in playing to come and join the sport.

WANTED Primary School Students for Netball
The White Hills Football Netball Club seeks 4 Primary School students to play in their Primary Grade throughout the 2017 season. The Primary Grade is a non-competitive grade of netball, focusing on fun, learning to play all positions on the court and development of the basic skills of the game. Our club is a family club, fielding both senior and junior netball and football teams in the Heathcote & District Football Netball League. Our season commences on Saturday 8 th April. The Bendigo Mountain Bike Club feel that their aims and objectives for this event, and as a club, have many synergies with the DET Health and Physical Education objectives as outlined in the new Victorian Curriculum. There are a range of strategies the club has pursued to make the GTE a welcoming event with broad appeal across the community and to the school community in particular: A specific entry code for Schools offering a $10 discount on entry. Clean Up YOUR Cemeteries Day As part of Clean Up Australia Day In conjunction with Clean Up Australia Day, Remembrance Parks Central Victoria (RPCV) invite its local community to participate in their annual ‘Clean Up YOUR Cemeteries Day’. This year RPCV encourage community members to visit the site of a loved one to pay their respects and make sure it is clean and in a good state of repair. The event will be held on Sunday the 5th of March across five RPCV locations including Bendigo Remembrance Park, Eaglehawk Remembrance Park, White Hills Remembrance Park, Kangaroo Flat Remembrance Park and Axedale Public Remembrance Park. All attendees to this event will need to register at each site on the day. So bring a pair of gloves, a hat and some sunscreen and join RPCV in making our Remembrance Parks beautiful and safe places to visit.
