Eisenhower High School was founded in August 2011 when the district split the existing high school School colors are Columbia Blue and Black Mascot is the White Tiger Classification is 5A Member of the Arkansas Valley Chisholm Trail League (AVCTL) In 9/2017, the total student count was 915: Seniors – 211 students Juniors – 231 students Sophomores – 222 students Freshmen – 251 students In 2017 EHS has 3 administrators, 52 certified staff, 2 counselors and a full-time nurse
Of the 47 regular education certified staff members, 35 have a master’s degree and 2 certified staff member have a doctorate degree Class of 2017 GPA Top 10% - 3.91 GPA or better Top 25% - 3.69 GPA or better Top 50% - 3.41 GPA or better 31 Kansas Scholars Curriculum Completers, with 7 qualifying as Kansas Designated State Scholars 2017 ACT composite score was 21.7. Test prep courses are offered and online materials are available for all students. 1 National Merit Finalist, 2 National Merit Commended and 1 US Air Force Cadet
Through the Advanced Placement classes and partnerships with Newman University and Wichita Area Technical College, Eisenhower students can earn college credit before graduation EHS is a Project Lead the Way school affiliated with Wichita State University Special Education Services are provided through the Sedgwick County Cooperative. EHS is home to the district’s Functional Applied Academics program Virtual Online Courses are available EHS has an award winning Outdoor Wildlife Learning Site (OWLS) with native grasses, trail and pond EHS is fully accredited by the State of Kansas
RECOGNITIONS AND HONORS
66 EHS students earned concentrator status in at least one Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway and 14 of the 66 EHS students earned concentrator status is two CTE pathways. FCCLA Culinary Pro-Start Team earned 4th place in 2017. The men’s basketball coach was voted as Coach of the Year for the League. The EHS Football Coach and an EHS team member were selected to participate in the 2017 Shrine Bowl. Theatre is a Gold Honor Thespian Troupe and we have participated at the National Speech and Debate Tournament. Girls Bowling Team won 5A in 2016 and Boys Bowling Team has won 5A State twice. Choir, Band and Orchestra members have performed at Carnegie Hall for the past 4 years and consistently receive top awards at the State Music Competitions. Band and Jazz Band earned Superior Ratings at Festival Disney in 2017. Business Professional Association is nationally competitive. Law/SAFE Club promotes student safety with seatbelts and texting and driving. EHS is recognized earned a Kansas Green School of Excellence and is a Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools Awardee.

If eligible, students may enroll in an Honors course to be challenged beyond the average curriculum. Courses available are Honors English 9-12, Public Speaking, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, College Algebra with Review, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, Honors US History, Honors US Government, Honors World History, Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry I, Honors Chemistry II, Human Anatomy, Spanish III, German III.
Students may earn college credit by taking advanced placement classes at EHS and taking the Advanced Placement exams in May. Classes offered are AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science Principles and AP Studio Art.
EHS Students may participate in concurrent enrollment, receiving high school credit and college credit though Kansas Newman University. Classes for available for college credit are Honors English 12, Honors US Government, Honors US History, Honors Chemistry II, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pre-Calculus, College Algebra with Review and Public Speaking.
