ACADEMIC CONFERENCE
From 11th to 15th July, from 9:00am to 1:30pm, at Miramar Palace. Talks, round-table discussions, films and a photographic exhibition International experts will present various research findings and reflections related to improvised verse singing. Among other issues, they will debate on the improvised verse singing arts in the Catalan Countries, Austria, Murcia, Cyprus, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, the Basque Country, Karelia, the United States, Galicia and Wales. Registration Open until 6th July on the UPV-EHU Summer Courses’ website: www.uik.eus. For those interested in taking part on all five days, the enrolment will cost 80 euros, and for those who want to participate on one or more days, 25 euros per day. IMPROVISED VERSE SINGING SHOWS
From 11th to 16th July, every day, you will enjoy an international show of improvised verse singing, with improvisers from Cuba, Mexico, the Catalan Countries, Wales, Austria, Cyprus and the Basque Country. All performances, with one exception, are at different locations in Donostia/San Sebastian: in the port, at the headquarters of DSS2016EU, at the Tabakalera, in the old town, in Oñati and at the Kursaal. The detailed programme will be published in June.

Europa bat-batean is a project developed by Mintzola Ahozko Lantegia and Donostia/San Sebastián 2016 European Capital of Culture. The main objective is to raise awareness of and look in more depth at improvised verse singing, and bringing together different traditions on stage in a multicultural dialogue.
