Q:    If  I  become  a  member  do  I  need  to  attend  the  PTSA  meetings?   A:   No.    While  we  do  encourage  members  to  attend  PTSA  meetings  so  they  can  stay  in  tune  to  what  is  evolving,  as  well  as  add  any   ideas  or  suggestions,  attending  PTSA  meetings  is  NOT  mandatory.  

 

Q:    What  does  my  $20.00  membership  go  towards?   A:      As  an  operating  501c  unit  of  a  national,  non-­‐profit  org.  PTSA  is  subject  to  standard  operating  expenses  for  legal  insurance  and   protection  and  membership  fees.  $4.25  goes  directly  to  National  PTA  for  these  expenses.  The  remainder  goes  to  EVHS  PTSA  so   that  we  can  fund  various  programs.  

 

Q:   Why  should  I  donate  to  EVHS  PTSA?   A:   In  a  nutshell,  PTSA  can  help  to  fulfill  many  educational  deficits  that  exist  in  the  classroom  and  on  campus.    Due  to  educational   budget  cuts,  funding  can  often  get  very  tight  and  there  are  many  classrooms  that  lack  necessary  resources  for  the  teaching   environment.    EVHS  PTSA  looks  at  the  school  needs  from  a  “big  picture”  and  we  identify  the  most  mission  critical  areas  where   we  can  fulfill  these  needs  that  will  add  the  most  benefit  and  value  to  our  students,  school  and  community.  

 

Q:   What  are  some  of  the  benefits  and  perks  we  receive    by  supporting  EVHS  PTSA?   A:    While  only  being  a  3  year  old  unit,  PTSA  has  already  made  a  significant  contribution  to  EVHS.  For  the  2013-­‐14  school  year,  PTSA   was  able  to  donate  100%  of  what  it  received  back  to  the  school.  We  gave  almost  $16K  that  went  toward  significant  educational   enhancements.    In  addition,  PTSA  members  receive  perks  and  discounts  from  various  businesses  including  Legoland,   CalAcademy  of  Sciences,  TeenSmart  Driver  Safety  Programs  to  name  a  few.    All  discounts  can  be  viewed  at   http://downloads.capta.org/mem/PerksFlier.pdf
