Develops the agenda and presides over PTSA board of directors meetings and general membership meetings Meets regularly with the principal to facilitate the exchange of information between administration and the parent community about Springbrook initiatives Promotes PTSA visibility at events such as Back-To-School-Night, Open House and Awards Night Assists in finding committee chairpersons and supporting them in their work Works with treasurer to sign checks and ensure financial records are in order Assists the president in performing the duties as described above Presides over meetings in the absence of the president Prepares checks and processes deposits Maintains monthly financial statements of PTSA receipts and expenditures Prepares and files all necessary tax forms Records the meeting minutes Presents them for approval at subsequent meetings

Works throughout the year to raise funds and deliver a fun-filled party that provides a safe place for teens to go after the prom. Fundraising activities include an online auction, restaurant spirit nights, and mum sales. Party planning activities include selecting a venue and decorations, selecting an entertainment provider, and organizing food and prize donations. Works with Springbrook administration to find and implement ways to keep the Springbrook community and the greater community informed about Springbrook activities, successes and initiatives. Supports administration in the development and distribution of News from the Brook, the school newsletter Maintains the Springbrook e-list Works in the summer and beginning of the school year to organize and publish a school directory for distribution to PTSA members. Seeks ads from community businesses to fund the directory printing costs Work with staff Homecoming coordinators to provide parent support for the Homecoming dance Organize volunteers to staff the coatroom during the dance Develops a variety of activities to make parents and students feel welcome at Springbrook and to encourage PTSA membership and volunteerism Activities include providing ice cream sundaes for new student orientation and staffing welcome tables at 9th Grade Parent Orientation, Back-to-School Night, Open House and other events Maintains membership list and works with treasurer to record and submit membership dues Communicates with faculty regarding availability of PTSA minigrant funds and the status of their requests Reviews grant proposals and makes recommendations to the PTSA executive committee Identifies fundraising shopping rebates programs from stores such as Giant, Shoprite and Target Encourages and helps parents sign up for these programs Works throughout the year to plan and execute various staff appreciation events by collaborating with parent and student volunteers Past activities have included a welcome back breakfast during the staff in-service week, a dinner before Back-to-School Night and some type of end-of-year event
