There are four spots available for a junior or senior to attend this event if they’d like to join. Youth Group We talked about starting a program to similar to the one at St. Lambert Parish has at our parish. Joan and Rochelle offered to help start this new program, so long as the theological portion is laid out for them. We discussed having Jeff Baustian or Pierce O’Connor come and give us guidance about the theological items. Other suggestions for Youth Group included coffee and talks. Formed is offering a very interesting program on Divine Mercy called “The Second Greatest Story Ever Told.” Annamarie is interested in offering this program to our high school students beginning Sunday, April 3rd. Living Stations of the Cross Living Stations will continue this year. There was initially a concern about the perceived lack of interest. Practices are Sundays, Feb. 28th-March 20th from 3-5 p.m. Living Stations will be presented on Wednesday, March 23rd at 5:30 p.m. and Friday, March 25th at 3 p.m. Fundraising Past: Pancake Breakfast (Sun., Feb. 7th)—Final total revenue was $1,146.04 (We were charged twice for the sausage. o Sign up at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15lBfdXuphoruZexkgqiChl7Yv1jlK WV9oqeDo8GAKsM/edit?usp=sharing KC decision o Our Knights of Columbus Council will be having their own breakfast in April. The funds raised will be given to our Youth Program. This will not be replacing our time/space for that fundraising event.
Fire & Ice Retreat Planning Committee Terry Wright will be taking the spiritual lead position. The retreat is Friday, April 29th-Sunday, May 1st. Registration forms are available now. We are sticking with the same format for the retreat that was presented at our October 2015 meeting. We are hopeful that we’ll have enough leaders, chaperones and participants to have this event actually happen. Our Core Team includes Kristi, Curt, Joan, Terry and Annamarie. o The first meeting for the Core Team is Wednesday, March 2nd at 8 p.m. in the Youth Room. We are looking for small group leaders to offer their time. They do not have to stay overnight. We are also looking for leaders/chaperones who are willing to stay overnight. A big concern is the need for leaders who are experienced in charismatic healing/praying over people. These people were suggested: o Jim Cannon o Koinonia participants/leaders o Mike Donnelly o Fr. Andrew Dickinson/SDSU Healing Group o Tim & Julie Dickes o Bruce & Kathy Halma o Deacon John Devlin (St. Michael Parish) o Fr. Ed Pierce We need to make a BIG push for students to attend this event. It will count as a 2017 Confirmation retreat. T-shirts We’re looking into various pricing options. We’ll have an idea at our March Youth Council meeting. Mission Trip Trip will be Sun.-Sat., June 12th-18th to the HeartWork Camp in Milwaukee, WI. Registration deadline is extended to Wednesday, March 30th. Steubenville Conference The conference will be Fri.-Sun., July 15th-17th in Rochester, MN.

Monthly Large Group Meeting February’s topic is Suffering/Suicide (Wed., February 24th) o Annamarie was asked to compare and contrast a secular view of suicide (Brittany Maynard) with that of the view of the Church. April’s topic will be Something About Mary (Wed., April 27th) o Msgr. Charles Mangan will be the presenter. Other Business Questions arose about having May-August schedules available for Y-Disciple groups. The schedules will be available soon. We will look into having a Y-Disciple Group and Family potluck dinner in August. Registration forms for the 2016/2017 school year will be available at the end of July.
