300 Year Anniversary Celebrations Here is a final reminder of our celebration programme for this week. Service of thanksgiving with The Most Reverend Donald Allister, Bishop of Peterborough. Wednesday the 15th of June 9.15 a.m. at the Parish Church of St Barnabas: Procession to the bandstand in Bassett’s Close Friday the 17th of June 1.00 p.m. starting from Morrisons in Oxford Street:

Shirt Sponsorship Unfortunately our County Championship winning team have to play tag rugby in football strip (!) so we are interested in anyone (who perhaps runs a business) who may be interested in shirt sponsorship. We have a young team that will continue to develop and do well next year so if anyone would like to be associated with success please contact Mr Zakis at the school to discuss a sponsorship deal. A pageant depicting the 300 year history of the school. Friday the 17th of June 1.30 p.m. (approximate start time) Note: If at all possible please bring your own chairs to sit on for the pageant. The pageant will transfer to St Barnabas Parish Church in case of wet weather. An exhibition of the history of the school. Saturday the 18th of June in the school hall 1.00 – 4.00 p.m. Mini Summer Fair Friends of Freemans School are also organising a summer fair at the same time as the exhibition. There will be a barbeque, tombola, cake stall etc in aid of school funds. Tag Rugby Sporting Success We are very proud of our tag rugby team that battled through a number of tournaments to become County Champions. As a result our team went through to the regional competition that was held at Leicester. Our team did very well in the preliminary round winning three games, drawing one and losing one. Coming equal second in their group they went through to the shield knock out competition but unfortunately went out in the first round. Well done to everybody who took part and thank you to Miss Dowdall for organizing the team and all the parents that help to coach and support the team.

Job opportunities in the new school kitchen The new county schools meal service provider ‘Nourish’ has asked me to bring to your attention two job opportunities at the school. Post title: catering provider (2 posts) Hours: post 1 – 20 hrs per week, post 2 – 10 hrs per week Weeks: 38 weeks a year Status: permanent Scale: B spinal points 6 – 8 Salary range: £12,489 to £13,189 pro rata Hourly rate: £6.47 Applicants can apply for one of these positions online by visiting www.northamptonshire.gov.uk or ring 01604 237666 to request an application pack. Book Donation As part of our celebrations we would like to invite parents and friends of the school to consider donating a book to the school library to commemorate our 300 years. Each donated book will have a 300 year commemorative frontispiece giving the name of the donor. A ‘wish list’ has been set up on Amazon, listing books that pupils and children have requested for the library. Navigate to the Amazon home page (www.amazon.co.uk) and click on the ‘Wish List’ tab on the right of the screen. In this box type: Freemans Endowed and then you can access the wish list for the school. Thereafter you can purchase the books in the normal manner.

Grendon Trip – Year 4 A reminder of the Grendon parent information evening will th be held on Monday 20 June at 6.00pm. Please can all consent/medical forms be in school by this date. The total cost of the trip is £130 and you can, if you wish to, pay any outstanding money owing for the trip at the parent evening, otherwise all payments will need to be made by th Monday 27 June.

Year 5 Children – Year 6 Residential Trip 2011 The cost of this visit has now been finalized at £235.00. th Please can all outstanding money be paid by Friday 8 July.

Music Class Photographs Please can all orders for class photographs be in school by th Monday 20 June. Please note that there is an additional administration charge for late order.

All music invoices went out this week. st Please can these be settled by Friday 1 July. You will notice that we have a new style invoice; these will be sent out termly to coincide with the Northampton Music Services invoicing. We would rather not use payment cards for music, from next year, however if this causes a problem please come into the office and let us know.

Musical Evening The Fire Fighters Charity Thank you to all parents who brought in their bags of clothing, a total of £115.00 was raised.

Our Annual Musical Evening will be held on Tuesday 21 June at 6.30pm in St Barnabas Church. The combined choirs of Freeman’s and St Barnabas will be singing a selection of ‘Songs from the Shows’

Gardening Club Thank you to everyone who bought tomato plants. The club raised £30.00, which will go towards more equipment. Thank you.

There will also be performances by the children from Freeman’s who play musical instruments. Tickets available from the office at the cost of £1.00.

Tesco and Sainsbury Vouchers

Year 4 Swimming

Thank you to everyone who brought in these vouchers. We will be purchasing some new ‘Huff and Puff’ equipment for the children to play with at break time and some PE equipment for the school.

There will be no year 4 swimming this Friday, due to the 300 year celebrations.
