HOMEWORK CLUBS Homework Clubs are available to all students grades 5-8. Members of the Homework Club will be supported by qualified teachers as they complete their homework at each session. Students will work independently in a quiet, work-centered environment. The role of the Homework Club instructor is to support students in the completion of homework assignments and to promote positive work habits. Instructors will check agenda books with the assumption that assignments have been entered accurately. Students are solely responsible for the completion of their homework and direct instruction will not be provided. Time spent in the Homework Club may also be used to organize materials and prepare for upcoming assessments. Cell phones and snacks are not permitted. Students should eat their snack prior to arriving at the Homework Club. While students are expected to focus on their own work, they are also encouraged to support each other as needed. Instructors will not be held responsible if assignments are not completed during the session. Homework Clubs for the 2017-2018 school year will be paid for on a per diem basis. The cost of attending a Homework Club session is $5 per session. A full-year membership is also available for $200. Payments can be made upfront for future sessions as the instructors will track payments and attendance (i.e. paying $50 upfront gives you access to 10 sessions). Payments made ahead of time can be applied to any future session.
