POLICIES GENERAL POLICIES
YOUTH/TEEN GUEST PASS POLICY
Youth are not permitted in the facility past 8:30 pm Monday-Thursday and past 9:00 pm on Friday unless participating in an activity with a parent.
All personal belongings are to be placed in lockers in the appropriate locker room areas. Please use a lock. The Y is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Youth who are not members through age 15 must be with a parent or adult to purchase a guest pass. Exceptions may be made during non-busy times. Youth who are not members may come in and purchase a guest pass up to 3 times per calendar year.
Abuse to the facility or equipment is prohibited.
The Y has the right to revoke membership upon infraction of Y procedures.
DISCIPLINE POLICY The Y is based on Christian ideals, values and behavior. Improper conduct is subject to review and suspension of privileges including, but not limited to: 1) fighting or instigating a fight, 2) theft, 3) swearing, 4) threatening a staff member, 5) loaning membership card to someone who is not a member, 6) vandalism, and 7) drugs and/or alcohol possession. Length of suspension will be determined by the Executive Director after a meeting with suspended member and parent.
GUIDELINES FOR YOUTH AT THE Y
Youth under 13 need to be accompanied by a parent unless they are participating in a YMCA program or scheduled open activities.
Youth under 6 need a parent/guardian to stay on site even when they are participating in YMCA programs unless otherwise stated. Example: Licensed Child Care
YOUTH CENTER
This room is an activity area for children to hang out. Children under the age of 12 must have a parent in the building.
YOUTH FITNESS POLICY
Ages 6 and Older
Ages 8-11: Youth may use “Kid Approved” fitness equipment if they meet the 4’8” height requirement, have taken the orientation with a parent/ guardian and their parent/guardian is working out or standing beside them at all times. “Kid Approved” fitness equipment will be marked with a sticker and includes bikes, recumbent bikes, rowing machines, Octane machines and NuStep machines.

Ages 12-15: Must complete the Wellness Center Orientation at their branch then they may use any fitness equipment on their own. The Healthy Living Director and Executive Directors reserve the right to determine equipment competency and limitations at any time to ensure the safety of participants and member service.
Ages 6 and Under: Must have an adult present
Ages 7-12: Must have passed deep water test to swim without an adult present
Ages 13 and up: No adult required to swim
Deep water tests are offered the first 5 minutes of every open swim. Once the deep water test has been passed stop at the Welcome Center before entering the pool area to get a hand stamp to show the guard. 2

HEALTH SCREENINGS HEALTH SCREENING
PERSONAL TRAINING– INDIVIDUAL
Blood Pressure Screenings - The second Wednesday of every month—10am– Noon.
The individual PT program provides five one-on-one sessions with your Personal Trainer. Single sessions may also be purchased, but our recommendation is that you start with the package first. Personal training packages expire 90 days after first session. Fee $100 package/$25 single session for Members $200 package/$50 single session for Program Members
UH Health Screenings and Lecture: Feb.15th — Screening Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Sugar and BMI. 8-10am and 57pm. Lecture at 10:30 will discuss healthy holiday recipes.
CPR/FIRST AID CPR PRO This more advanced American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) course covers core material such as adult, pediatric, and infant CPR, foreign body airway obstruction, and AED. The course is approximately 4 hours. It is appropriate for most individuals looking to fulfill a CPR requirement, or for anyone who must obtain a CPR certification card. Class limited to 10 students. GROUP CLASSES GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES Group Exercise is a wonderful way to increase physical fitness while learning in a supportive group environment. As you develop friendships you will also nurture your own self confidence. Group exercise class offerings vary. Please see the separate schedule or online at lakecountyymca.org
OXYGEN ADMINISTRATION/FIRST AID You can approach life’s accidents with confidence and calm when you take this class. From burns to scrapes to illness and injury, this hands-on class will leave you well equipped to handle emergencies large and small. American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). PERSONAL FITNESS TECHNOGYM®
BOOK CLUB
Get a great cardiovascular workout that takes you from one machine to the next, each interval having a different target heart rate. It’s fun and will put variety in your workout routine. Plus, you’ll have the comfort of knowing you’re exercising at an appropriate level for you. Once you’re comfortable with the cardio circuit, set up another appointment with one of our trainers for the strength equipment. Technogym® Smart key technology guides you through your workout while tracking your progress, and it will keep you motivated. Register and pay at the Welcome Center and we’ll set up an appointment with you.
Beg, borrow or buy the featured book, read it and join the group to share your perspective. The book club meets on the second Friday of each month and is coordinated by Audrey Moseley. Pack a lunch (optional). The group meets in the Youth Center from Noon-1pm. No registration necessary.

WELLNESS CENTER Our Wellness Center, with state of the art exercise equipment, is designed to meet the needs of members at various fitness abilities. Basic orientations, for members 16 years and up, are recommended and are free. Simply call or stop by the Wellness Center to make an appointment.

Swim, bike and run for the “medal” of your choosing— gold, silver or bronze. There is a level of competition for everyone, from novice to pro. If you complete the Y Ironman you will receive a T-Shirt. Registration begins February 1.
The volunteer chaplain team is here to tend to your spirit. The chaplains are willing to serve and guide with any needs, concerns or questions. They will listen to you. Contact the Welcome Center for more information.
