ESSENTIAL INFORMATION REGARDING PENNY WARS The following information is regarding one of the spirit competition activities—Penny Wars. Penny Wars is a competitive event between classes where they are ranked based on who raises the most pennies for charities, which affects the amount of points their class receives. Students can donate pennies at the Penny Wars table outside the upper cafeteria. Donations can be made October 18th through the 24th during all lunch shifts. Point Breakdown: Silver coins and paper money can be put into the other class jugs to give them negative points. The point system for Penny Wars is below: 1 Penny = +1 Point 1 Nickel = - 5 points 1 Dime = -10 points 1 Quarter = -25 points 1 Dollar = -100 points 5 Dollars = -500 points
Penny Wars is another fantastic way for Woodbridge to raise money for charities. This year the charities we are raising money for are Freeze Bullying, Colby’s Ride, AARDA (American Autoimmune Related Disease Association), and Dressember. Dressember is an organization that challenges women to wear a dress every day in December in order to raise funds and awareness for slavery, human trafficking and so much more.
