How to use Kisslicer with the CubeX. The Screen shots are using the Kisslicer Pro license and might be grayed out in the free version. (Try it and then buy it. It is cheap and so worth it)                

Download the Kisslicer application. http://kisslicer.com/ (attached in zip file is the 64bit version). Unzip the "Kisslicer_settings_CubeX_rev2.zip" file and place all files into the same directory or folder where you have your kisslicer.exe file. Note: After unzipping the files, you need to change the “CubeIt.exx” to “CubeIt.exe” and the “KISSlicer64.exx” to “KISSlicer64.exe” (this was done because some email programs block “.exe” files). When you start kisslicer, it uses the four .ini files. If it does not find any .ini files, it will create default .ini files. Place also the "BedCubeX.stl" file into that same directory. Double click the Kisslicer exe file. The screen shots below point out settings you have to adjust depending if you print with PLA or ABS and with what printjet you want to print. There are pull down selections for PLA or ABS. Look thru the screen shots below and make necessary adjustments. Hover with the mouse button over the different settings, to get the pop up feature explanation. After you sliced the model, scroll thru the sliced file and see if you get the desired infill amount and support structure. Save the file. Then run the cubeIt.exe and open the kisslicer model file you just created. Then select the filament material. CubeIt creates a new file from your model file and a backup file of the original before CubeIt. Open the .bfb file that CubeIt created with notepad. (not the backup file) In Notepad, remove the 2nd thru 6th line in the code. So the only line with the “^” in front of it should be the “^Firmware:v1.07”. That one needs to stay. Removing the other 5 lines with the “^” in front of it will allow you to print without the software checking if there is a cartridge installed. Save the file and copy the file onto your memory stick and stick it in the cubeX. Select "Home", (always "Home" before checking / setting "z-gap". Select "Z-gap" to check the z-gap. (adjust if needed). See note below! Select print.

Note: The Kisslicer starts the first layer at a lower z-height than CubeX files. So you can either add a "Z Offset" in the Kisslicer menu (In the Printer / Hardware tab of the Kisslicer software), or adjust your z-gap accordingly. Test print a small part first. These settings below are just base settings to get you started. See also file: “Kisslicer settings with and using the original CubeIt settings”. Attached is also "3d-printer-calibration" document that another user created, to fine tune / calibrate.

Select Material:  PLA or ABS.

Here is where you load the CubeX  printbed file.  (It is included in the zipped files).  Once loaded you don't need to load it  again.  Make sure to set the Bed Center X to ‐35.

If your first print layer is too squished  down, you can add a z‐offset here.  Increase in 0.10 increments.

Here is where you select  with what jet you want  to print the part etc.

Make sure to select the  Material file here.  ABS or PLA or other  custom.

In this example it would use the "ABS - CubeX" setting file and print everything with jet 3. Kisslicer CubeX installation rev2.docx           Page 3 of 4

For very detailed parts  set this to 15 and make  sure the slider on the  right is set to precise.
