REVIEW OF CONTRACT HISTORY FOR 7-12 STUDENTS AT NCSD/REVIEW OF 6TH GRADE STUDENT ATTENDANCE AT NCSD Mr. McFarland talked about how ECS 6th graders now come here for two periods per day here at NCSD. Due to the increase of classes they are integrated more with NCSD students instead of just a class of their own. Jackie Nichols added that they had spoken before about the Superintendent’s having more meetings and that hasn’t happened. She also asked that we complete the calendar earlier in the year. She also stated that she has had many phone calls about taking their kids to another district and that they have not made any decisions and they would like to look at options. They would like to meet more often to discuss various things. Communication is very important. Mr. Shepard asked about the statement of communication between the Boards and the Superintendents. He asked for further clarification on the solution to the communication problems. Superintendent Hromada stated that they have talked about additional meetings and aligning school calendars. Mr. Shepard asked why they are thinking of keeping their 6th graders. He also asked that wouldn’t it make more sense for them to stay in the middle school with the peers that they will spend the next 6 years with. Ms. Hromada stated that with their current model they would fit better at Edinburg. Ms. Hromada stated that she had mentioned to Dr. Ford that they are looking at giving their students options between Broadalbin-Perth and Northville. She stated that they decided to move forward with that at today’s Board of Education meeting. Ms. Nichols stated is there something they can help with regarding their students who aren’t doing well in addition to the students that are doing well. Dr. Ford stated they should meet together and discuss the processes. QUESTIONS AND SHARING Everyone agreed to meet again May 2 at 5:00 pm. ADJOURNMENT John Knapp made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:02 p.m. The motion was seconded by Arlene Rambush and carried 7-0. Respectfully Submitted, Laurie L. Groff, District Clerk
