Addressing Corporate Accountability and Unregulated Private Sector Participation in the Post-2015 Development Agenda: Implications for Follow-up and Review Thursday, May 21, 2015 ● 1:15 – 2:30 PM ● UN Conference Room 9 Webcast Live at webtv.un.org During the Post-2015 process, many organizations and a number of Member States have called for mechanisms enabling greater accountability for private sector involvement to ensure development that is truly sustainable, equitable, and just. This event will present a range of civil society concerns regarding private sector participation in the provision of essential services including water and sanitation services, universal health care, and education. What are the implications of corporate impunity, deregulation and international investment law for the SDGs? Panelists will put forward recommendations for follow-up and review based on the human rights framework to address these concerns and to ensure that people as rightsholders are central in the implementation of the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
