Rome and the ‘Francis’ effect Attendees: Guest Speaker: David Willey – BBC correspondent in Rome Alumni only In two short years, the very popular Pope Francis has redirected the Catholic Attire: Church back to its roots, causing quite a stir in the process. The presenter will also highlight the innovative work in CCM area by an upcoming global company, Doxee, based in Modena. 12.30 – 1.45pm Lunch -‐ Attendees: Alumni and Guest / Attire: Business Casual 1.45 – 2.45pm The Global Challenge of Food Security: The Role of Small Holder Farmers Attendees: Guest Speaker: Josefina Stubbs – Associate Vice-‐President and Chief Alumni only Strategist, Strategy and Knowledge Department, IFAD Attire: Business Casual With a long career forged out of helping the underprivileged, including stints at Oxfam UK and the Ministry of Agriculture in the Dominican Republic, Ms. Stubbs’ current work at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) places her on the frontlines to one of the world’s most pressing problems. 2.45 – 3.45pm Electricity: Threats And Opportunities for Incumbents and Newcomers Attendees: Guest Speaker: Carlo Papa – Chief Innovation of ENEL Green Alumni only The world’s dependence on ‘black gold’ is changing with the onset of Attire: renewable energy. Mr. Papa’s insight into the current energy paradigm and Business Casual developing innovations will allow us to better understand this complex playing field. 11.45 – 12.00pm Coffee Break 12.00 – 1.00pm The Most Extraordinary History of LSE Speaker: Professor Mick Cox – LSE Attendees: Alumni only Founded in 1895, LSE is considered to be one of the top universities in the Attire: world. It is one of the 3 schools that make up the TRIUM program and has Business Casual been graced with 18 Nobel prize winners among its students and faculty. Romano Prodi, former PM of Italy was a postgraduate student at LSE in the 1960’s. Gala Dinner Venue: Hotel Indigo – St. George (Via Giulia, 62) Meeting Point: Hotel Palazzo Montemartini Lobby at 7pm We will be once again heading for a rooftop terrace for this year’s Module 7 Gala Dinner. The ‘official’ end to activities takes place in the heart of ancient Rome, where the sun will set on another successful alumni-‐led event. Just a stone’s throw for the Tiber (Tevere), this is the ideal spot from which to explore Rome’s ebullient summer nightlife – Module 7’s ‘unofficial’ activities!

Farewell Brunch* Venue: Posta Vecchia For those that have signed up, a Sunday brunch at Posta Vecchia located outside the city is a magnificent end to this year’s Module 7 in Rome.
