This year projects will be displayed PRE-AUCTION in the Multi use Room during the following times: Wednesday, March 7, 11 am -1:30 pm Thursday, March 8, 2 pm-3:30 pm Friday, March 9, 7:30-8:30 am and 2:00-3:30 pm We will be selling Raffle tickets at this year's Pre-Auction event: CATCH A STAR raffle where just $50 will enter you in for a chance to win your choice from a selection of highly coveted LIVE AUCTION items. Don't forget about the Punch and Pizazz raffle where each ticket (1 for $25 or 3 for $50) comes with a delicious drink. The jewelry for pizazz will be on display and the list of live items will be provided during ticket sales.

Walnut Acres Education Fund

Help Your Community, Help Your Food Bank March 12-16, 2012 Walnut Acres will host its annual food drive benefiting the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano March 12-16. The most wanted food items include: Canned Meat, Fish & Soups Canned Ready to Eat Meals Canned Vegetables & Tomato Products Peanut Butter (plastic container) Iron Rich Cereal (45% or more of daily value) 100% Fruit Juice (48 oz. or less plastic bottles) Canned Fruit (in juice) Dry Beans (any type) Enriched Rice or Pasta Powdered Milk We will be accepting canned food March 12-16, 2012, in designated food barrels set up in each classroom. This year's theme is the Walnut Acres Museum of Modern Art, otherwise known as "WA MoMA". On Thursday, March 29th, the Multi-Use Room will be transformed into a Museum of Modern Art, showcasing artwork from all grades at Walnut Acres. Last day to submit Entry forms is today March 5th. Please place all completed entry forms in the school office in the box labeled "ART SHOW ENTRIES". If you would like to submit a last minute Entry, forms are located on the PFC Website. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer for this fabulous event, please email Robin Piantidosi.

Box Tops 4 Education Earn cash for our school! Collect Box Tops and drop them in the collection bin in the office.

Yearbooks The yearbook committee is looking for a few candids of Walnut Acres students to complete this year's book. If you have photos that you would like to submit for consideration to be included in the 20112012 yearbook, please put them on a CD and leave them in the "Yearbook" box located in the front office. Deadline for photo submission is March 15th. Lunch Patrol Come out and enjoy the beautiful weather with your children during the lunch recess! We are looking for more volunteers for First Aid/Lunch Patrol. You'll help children in the lunchroom and help with minor bumps and bruises on the playground. Please sign up at the PFC website. Shifts are M,T, Th or Friday 11:30-1 pm (Kindergarten parents are exempt). We ask parents to volunteer for Lunch Patrol at least three days throughout the school year. Your support is much appreciated! 5th Grade Design Lab Projects Small Appliance Recycling Program The small appliance recycling program, run by one of our 5th grade students, will take place on Saturday, March 10, 9:00am-2:30pm at Walnut Acres. Please click here for more detailed information. Thank you for your help. Blunt Nosed Leopard Lizard Project We would like to thank everyone who donated to help the Blunt Nosed Leopard Lizard. All together, we raised $155, which is enough money for 155 feet of fence. The fence is going to be used to protect the lizard's habitat. You all did a great job with giving donations. Thank you!
