Thursday 9th February Dear Parents and Friends of the School The first two weeks of the school year have flown by and we have hit the ground running. The children have been swimming twice, been involved in cricket coaching and Rm 3 have started Kiwisport. So all go. House Leaders 2017 The following children are our house leaders for 2017. These will be emailed or given as a hard copy as requested. Welcome Mass and Picnic This Saturday evening, we have our Welcome Mass and Picnic at the pool. Mass is at 6pm and we ask the children to be there at 5.50pm. We have booked the pool for our picnic from 7-8pm. We are looking forward to a lovely evening. House Colour Day Tomorrow Friday 10th Feb we will be celebrating House Colour Day. The Year 7/8 leaders have been planning this with Mrs Scott. All children need to come dressed in the colour of their house. The leaders will be doing activities with their house followed by games between morning tea and lunch with a culmination game after lunch. We are looking forward to a fun time. Assembly This year we will be holding our assemblies every fortnight on a Friday starting at 2.20pm tomorrow. These will be held in Room 1 and will be led by two house leaders each week. Each class will be sharing at every
assembly. This could be the whole class, an individual child or a group. One class will be responsible each time for the prayer and song component. A roster will be displayed on the noticeboard. We look forward to you joining us. Please put this date in your calendar. More information will follow. Sons of Remo will be playing at the Victor Wilson Hall at Pleasant Point Primary School On Saturday 1 April. Meet the Teacher This coming Wednesday the 15th Feb we have our meet the teacher evening where each teacher will go through their classroom programme and answer any of your questions. Room 2 5.30pm Room 3 6.00pm Room 4 6.30pm Swimming Cup On Thursday the 23rd we will be holding our Swimming Cup. It will be held at the Pleasant Point Pool from 1.15-2.30pm. GERALDINE MULTI CHALLENGE – Sunday 19 March This annual event run by the Geraldine Lions Club, for mountain bikers now includes running and walking eventsw for those who want to enjoy the tracks other than on a mountain bike. All ages and genders are catered for. Details of the event are available on the school noticeboard, and at the office.
