To help us accomplish our mission, we want to present our revised campuswide student expectations. Please carefully read the information in this guide and keep it as a reference.

Students will enter the room respectfully, gather all materials needed, move directly to your assigned location, and be ready to work before the tardy bell sounds.

Students who are missing needed supplies, will politely inform their teacher and ASK for assistance. *All materials borrowed need to be returned at the end of the period.

For students who are absent: It is YOUR responsibility to find out what your missed assignments are and complete them in a timely manner as directed by your teacher.

Students are tardy if they are not in the classroom when the tardy bell rings.

Students will not touch anything that does not belong to them, including other people.

Students who are tardy must fill out the tardy log before joining class.

Students will follow teacher guided expectations when transitioning from individual work to group activities.

For students who miss a quiz or test: You will make arrangements with your teacher the same day you return to class to make up the missed assignment.

Students will be actively engaged in class every day by making eye contact and asking questions with the instructor. Students will only use their inside voice when talking in class. Students will raise a calm hand when needing assistance outside of direct teaching time only.

Students need to be ready to answer all questions at any given time in class. Students will follow the school wide event expectations when presentations are given in class. Students will turn in all assignments to the designated area in the classroom by following the teacher’s established procedures.

Students will make sure the classroom is clean before exiting the room. Students will only leave the classroom during instructional times with an escort. You may not leave the first or last 15 minutes of each class. Students will treat guest teachers with respect and maintain daily classroom expectations.

Before School Expectations Students will congregate in designated areas only: blacktop, north side of the school, and the cafeteria. Once you have chosen a location you must stay there. The cafeteria will open at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast. All students are encouraged to eat a FREE breakfast. Breakfast will not be served after 8:00 a.m.

At 7:45 a.m., students will move to the cafeteria hallway and sit along the wall till they are dismissed to attend class at 8:11 a.m. Students may not ride “wheels” , skateboards or bicycles on campus; They must be walked for the safety of all students.

Students will be able to go to tutorials or the library ONLY when a pass is presented. Once you are in the library you may not leave until the first bell sounds. Students will follow all hallway, cafeteria, bus, and outside/blacktop expectations.

Students will enter the building through the cafeteria doors only.

Breakfast is served 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and it’s free for all

Students will walk on the right side of the hall while moving to their next designated location.

Students will not use hallways as stopping zones.

Students will keep hands, feet, body parts, and objects to themselves.

Students will use the restroom and/or take care of other needs in their 5 minute passing period.

Students will use with inside voices, respectful tones, and word choice. Screaming and vulgar language are not acceptable.

Students are not allowed to have electronics visible during passing periods.

Students will respond respectfully to all adults or peers.

Restroom Expectations Students will use the restroom during their passing periods.

Students will clean up after themselves. Trash goes in the trash can!

Students will wait in a line for the restrooms when needed.

Students will only use the restrooms for restroom purposes. No conversations, applying make-up, cell phone use or congregating will be tolerated.

Students will wash their hands after bathroom use.

Bus Expectations Students will board and depart the bus in a calm single file line for the safety of all students.

Students will remain quiet and polite to all on and off the bus others.

Students will keep all body parts and objects inside the bus at all times.

Students will remain seated during the entire bus ride.

Students will refrain from horseplay, eating, littering and public displays of affection while on the bus.

Students will exit the bus and immediately head to their next destination (i.e. cafeteria, blacktop, or tutoring).

Breakfast

Cafeteria Expectations

The cafeteria will open at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast. All students are encouraged to eat a FREE breakfast. Breakfast will not be served after 8:00 a.m.

Students will enter the cafeteria through the out side north cafeteria doors ONLY.

Students will enter the breakfast line calmly and then find a seat to eat. One person to a chair.

Students will only use library voices while in the cafeteria.

Students will leave the cafeteria by exiting through the closest interior door available.

Students may only use their electronic devices in the cafeteria. They must be put away before leaving the cafeteria. All visible electronics will be taken up and turned in to the office. **Restrooms nearest to the gym are to be used during lunch (not the restrooms in the hallway).

Electronic Students will only use electronic before school, during lunch in the cafeteria only, and after school.

Lunch

—Students will come into the cafeteria, line up to receive their lunch, and take a seat where desired.

—After students receive lunch, they will remain seated for the duration of the lunch period.

—Students will be released to their next class by tables selected by an administration.

—Students will leave the cafeteria by exiting through the closest interior door available.

Students may use electronics in the cafeteria after announcements for the remainder of their lunch period. Don’t forget to put them away before leaving the cafeteria!

All electronic device use is prohibited during school hours unless specifically used for instructional activities as requested by classroom

Electronic devices that are out without permission will be confiscated and turned in to the front office by the end of the day for

End-of-the-Day Expectations Students will get anything they need from their lockers before 9th period, because they will not be allowed to go to lockers after school. Students will stand in a single file line in their 9th period class. Students will be escorted out of the building in a line by their teacher to the north side of the school.

Students who need to attend tutorials, meeting, detention or practice will re-enter the cafeteria through the outside doors and sit at the table marked for their commitment. Students will need to present dated pass if needing to attend more than one event.

Students will leave school property ASAP. Loitering outside of school is prohibited. Students will not be allowed to cut through the fields to walk home. You may only use Sunrise Road and Tiger Trail to walk home.

Outside & Blacktop Expectations Students will keep their hands, feet, and other body parts to themselves! Students will stay away from streets, building corners, roofs and buses. Students will only stay in sight of the adults present. Students are welcome to play sports and games on the blacktop area only.

Students will refrain from climbing trees or other objects. Students will be release from the blacktop & outside at 8:10 a.m. and only enter the building through the cafeteria. Students will use benches and tables ONLY as they are meant. Students will stay away from the portables.

Extracurricular Events Expectations When a student leaves an event, they may not re-enter and must leave the campus. Student is involved in a verbal confrontation or causes a scene, they will be escorted off campus and will not be allowed to attend any other
