Quick Review

This summer we are considering stories from the Old Testament and their abiding relevance today. As you study the passage, look beyond your notes to glean more truth from this passage by using these questions, so that you can find a greater harvest of truth! Context: Look at what happens in the chapters immediately preceding the story of the flood. Why does the list of descendants come right before this chapter?

Observation: Who are the main characters in Gen. 6? Compare Gen. 6:1-2 with Gen. 1:28. How is multiplying looked at in a different way? Is there a conflict or high point in the passage?

Meaning: How does the judgment of the flood point forward to what God is going to do in the future? How could you sum up the meaning of this passage in your own words? 


Application: How does this passage challenge your understanding about who God is and what he is like? Is there some attitude or belief you need to change?
