Norwich Puppet Theatre Target Audience

After emailing my client about their target audience they at first had some confusion about what I was trying to ask but in the end I got everything I needed and as above we can see that they mainly target young families that are based in Norwich. This goes with the target audience that I mentioned in my proposal which are the parents/carers. As we can also see they sometimes also get grandparents buying the tickets so they are trying to find ways to broaden up their audience which I think my video will be able to do.

I have concluded that my target audience would be families and parents that are aged 20 – 40.

Looking at the reviews of the Theatre through Facebook you see a lot of positive reviews on it and I have noticed that many of these people reviewing are actually parents themselves that have visited the Theatre in the last couple of months. These reviews tell us how much their kids have enjoyed the events hosted by the Theatre. What I can take away from this is to gather more information about what types of things the audience likes. This will include going out preferablly to the Theatre and try to speak to some parents and ask them questions about a SACM video that takes in the tone of mine and then note down any particular things most of them like or dislike and from that I can make sure to include those things.



I have also looked on YouGovProfiles and tried to search for Norwich Puppet Theatre, unfortunately they did not have a profile for that but they did have on for Puppetry. On the Puppetry profile the results that came up were that the audience who enjoy Puppetry fall in the ranged of being around 55 years of age, are male and have a social grade of C2DE. These people also would enjoy things such as sewing or embroidery. Their other interests would include religion and spirituality, culture and mental health.

In conclusion I don’t think I can use these results since they are not for the Theatre itself and YouGov does not show the most accurate results as it tries to put everyone who likes puppetry into one single things and the results may very vastly since not everyone who likes puppetry will like the same things and have similar interests. For example because the sample size is 214 the results that come out most favoured are just the ones that link together and in this case it could only be about 40 or so people that like sewing who like Puppetry but none of the other hobbies & activities between the people link which means sewing would come up at the top because a bigger quanity or percentage of 214 like those things but not all will like the same things. I don’t think it is a very trustworthy research sight since you will not always get the same results if you go out there and ask people first hand if they enjoy these things.

This is what is put on top of the results you have and it states that the information given is only ‘particularly true’ and not that everything is genuinely factualy true. Also the sample size might have big effects on the results since if it is smaller the things you get back have a higher chance of changing if only a few people enjoy the same things.
