WASHINGTON SCHOOL Kendo Carlson - Principal
Dressing for the Weather It is hard to know how to dress at this time of year. In addition, temperatures in the classroom vary from day-to-day and from classroom-toclassroom. The safest way seems to be dressing in layers and to bring winter wear just in case it is needed. Students are expected to be outside for recess. Minot Public School District policy states that children will not go outside for recess when the temperature is -5ºF or colder or the wind chill is -15ºF or colder. Please make sure your child has adequate outerwear so that he/she can comfortably enjoy this part of their day. A student stays inside only if we have a doctor’s note. Thank you for your help during our North Dakota winter weather.

Cookie Dough Sales Washington students sold Cookie Dough and did an awesome job. The cookie dough will be delivered on Thursday, November 16 at 1:30 pm. Volunteers are needed to assist with the cookie dough pickup at the school from 1:30 to 5:00. Please call the office if you can help. Congratulations again to Kaidence Williams for being the top seller. She sold 182 tubs of cookie dough and had 6 magazine sales. Great job, Kaidence. Thank you so much for supporting Washington School.
Mor e I n fo PTA Meeting

“Everyday Counts” To increase attendance rating MPS has implemented “Everyday Counts, Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow”. Attendance is tied to academic success. Please make it a priority to have your student at school on time! The day starts at 8:45 am. We are tracking attendance rates and this year classroom teachers will be calling when attendance becomes a problem. Remember to call the office if you know your child will be out. Please schedule appointments after school if at all possible. Let us know if we can help in anyway.
4th & 5th Grade Boys Basketball The Minot Recreation Commission is once again sponsoring the 4th and 5th grade boy’s basketball program. The season begins during the week of November 20 and will run six to eight weeks. Games will generally be played at 3:45 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in the Civic Center Auditorium II gym. If you are willing to coach, please contact Mr. Carlson through the school office. Flyers were given to the 4th & 5th grade boys.
