THE INTRODUCTION Rapid Blue, the Producers of programmes such as the “Weakest Link” on SABC3; “Strictly Come Dancing” and “Summer Games I” on SABC2, are delighted to announce the third season of Crazy Games. Crazy Games is a highly successful and established international game show format that features local teams from competing cities and towns in spectacular games and whacky costumes. It has its roots in the French format Interville and has achieved international acclaim as “the best family fun in the summer sun” in the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, China and now South Africa. The games are on a large scale and while sublimely hilarious they are very physical, highly competitive and played with grit and determination. THE SHOW The core of Crazy Games is nation-building as teams from various cities and towns compete against each other for the ultimate glory of walking away as the Crazy Games champions - and this fundamental value is directly in-line with SABC2’s ethos. As our country’s leading television channel, SABC2 underpins celebrating our nation and heritage and this has led the channel to realise great success and entrench itself into reaching the largest viewership. The city of Johannesburg will be hosting Crazy Games with recording commencing from Saturday 8th to Tuesday 18th August 2008. As one of SABC2’s newest hit shows Crazy Games will enjoy a prime time slot on Thursday evenings at 18H30. Page 2/..

-2WHY ENTER By participating in Crazy Games, you will be accessing: a. An excellent platform for your club to give its community a fun and enjoyable experience b. A fantastic medium to show off your team to South Africa with pride. AND WE ARE INVITING YOU TO ENTER CRAZY GAMES! THE REQUIREMENTS: Your team’s participation is conditional to the following: 1. Your club will provide a Team of 19 (further details and guidelines are below) 2. Your Club will provide a Team coordinator; this person may also be a member of the 19 strong team if you wish. 3. Rapid Blue and SABC2 will not provide any re-imbursement to the Team members, Team Co-ordinator for their time on this production 4. Rapid Blue and SABC2 will cover the cost of transporting, accommodating and providing meals for your Team,Team Co-ordinator whilst on this production THE TEAM: Please bear the following important information and pertinent details in mind when selecting your Team. Clubs need to select 19 competitors as follows: • • • •

13 X Male 6 X Female Between 18 to 30 years old The age limit is a guide only and is not enforced. Use your discretion, if you have more senior members who are strong and athletic, you are free to include them, they could be vital to your success! • Competitors need to be strong, athletic and fit • Be prepared to be interviewed for television • The ideal Team combination includes both strength and athletic (endurance) abilities; for example 3 to 4 competitors must be physically strong (muscular) and we suggest that at least 3 of the Team members need to have participated in activities such as gymnastics / rock climbing / canoeing Page 3/...

-3THE TEAM (CONTINUED): They must be able to: 1. Pick up their own body weight (this is an essential requirement for all Team members) 2. At least 4 of the 19 need to be able to do a minimum of 30 consecutive pull ups in order to participate in a strategically important game. 3. Take part in games that involve height and water 4. Understand English Competitors must bring their own clothing and shoes for travelling to and from Johannesburg and whilst in Johannesburg. For the games they will require their own Underwear, T-shirts, Shorts, Socks, Sneakers and Swimming costumes. Please bring two pairs of sneakers, one that can be used in the water based games Please remember that this show has a huge focus on nation building and community profiling. For example if your club has an extremely strong or athletic individual with an interesting story or occupation, we would love to have him / her on the show. Essentially it is about building local heroes for your community and spreading this awareness to the country at large. TEAM CO-ORDINATOR: We require a Team Co-ordinator to accompany and assist with managing your Team.

-4THE GAMES: Very briefly, the games will involve the following large scale apparatus: • • • • • •

A mechanical turntable Bungee cords / Projectile launching A slide into a swimming pool (water will be chest deep) A mechanical conveyor belt Oversized ostrich ,chicken and other animal costumes The ratchet (This is a mandatory race which all teams play as a final game. It requires supreme upper body strength with strong cardio vascular fitness. Do not under estimate the importance and the physical challenge of this game. This game is often the deciding factor in the show)

THE COSTUMES: A key element of the show is the whacky brightly coloured costumes. These will be supplied by Rapid Blue. SAFETY: We will also provide full safety gear for the competitors (helmets, joint guards, etc.). Safety Officers and a trauma doctor will be present throughout the duration of the recording in the unlikely event of an injury. These Officers are of the highest calibre and are fully equipped to deal with any emergency situation which may arise. TRANSPORTATION, ACCOMMODATION & CATERING: We will cover the cost of transportation, accommodation and meals for the duration of the teams’ stay. THE FINALS: Should your team score within the top two, you (i.e. Team, Team Co-ordinator) will be required to come back to participate in the final event recording on Monday, August 18.
