Distribute packets about the St. Mary’s Edline site to be discussed as we show our site. Packet will include the following: ✓ Teacher Quick Guide from Edline ✓ a print out of the St. Mary’s homepage ✓ a print out of the un-edited Teacher page (Latin) ✓ a print out of one of the “add document” pages with directions ✓ a print out of the “add event” calendar page ✓ typed directions for log in ✓ typed directions for managing account and design ✓ typed directions for editing the News and Calendar sections ✓ typed directions for uploading pictures/graphics onto the teacher pages ✓ typed directions for editing the Contents and Links sections (very similar to the News an Calendar, but slightly more advanced) ✓ A questionnaire about the uses of Edline to be used during the group discussion time ✓ PLENTY of room on each page for teachers to make notes 3. Log on to St. Mary’s Edline site ✓ Show homepage o discuss “Links”, “Contents”, “News” and “Calendar” pages ✓ Show “Latin” page o under Manage Account, make sure everyone has updated so their e-mail is listed on their page o discuss the 4 “edit” options for News, Calendar, Contents, and Links o show Manage Design and Manage Group options ▪ in Manage Design, change colors ▪ in Manage Group, change greeting and upload picture • in iPhoto, discuss changing the size of the picture to 350 x 263

o in “News” section, select edit option and demonstrate adding news to the teacher webpage o in “Calendar” section, select edit option and demonstrate adding a calendar event to the teacher webpage ✓ Show one of the St. Mary’s sites that has been worked on to illustrate end result 4. Discuss the small group meeting time goals ✓ discuss a minimum and maximum amount of work required for teachers ✓ discuss documents that teachers feel should be included on School Page as well as Teacher Pages 5. Explain the afternoon session ✓ UGC teachers will be working in the computer lab on their Edline sites with mentors available for assistance
