RESUMEN: Los pléctidos (orden Plectida) son un grupo de nematodos asociados a medios acuáticos, tanto marinos como dulceacuícolas, y a suelos húmedos. Entre estos últimos están los suelos presentes en cavidades subterráneas como cuevas y simas, donde aparecen sustratos arenosos más o menos ricos en materia orgánica. En la provincia de Jaén existen numerosas cavidades donde los pléctidos, aunque no son el grupo más numeroso, sí aparecen con cierta frecuencia. En el presente estudio se han examinado cinco cavidades de la provincia de Jaén: Cueva del Jabalí (Santiago de la Espada-Pontones), Sima Curva del Espino (Siles), Sima de la Colada, Sima del Campamento y Sistema de la Murcielaguina (las tres en Hornos). Este estudio ha revelado la existencia de cinco especies pertenecientes a una única familia (Plectidae) y dos subfamilias, siendo la subfamilia Plectinae la más frecuente y abundante con dos géneros y cuatro especies (Ceratoplectus armatus, Plectus aquatilis, P. exinocaudatus y P. pseudelongatus), mientras que la subfamilia Wilsonematinae está representada por un único género y especie (Neotylocephalus inflatus). Esta última se trata de una especie rara, la cual había sido citada con anterioridad en Oceanía (Nueva Zelanda) y América (Costa Rica, Ecuador y México), siendo encontrada ahora en España y Europa por primera vez. Por otro lado, P. aquatilis es la especie más frecuente, habiéndose hallado en tres de las cinco cavidades estudiadas. Respecto a dichas cavidades, la Sima de la Colada, con tres especies, es la que presenta una mayor diversidad. Palabras clave: biodiversidad, cuevas, nematodos, península ibérica, taxonomía.

Diversity of plectids (Nematoda, Plectida) in caves from the province of Jaén, Spain ABSTRACT: The plectids (order Plectida) are a nematode group associated to aquatic environments, both marine and freshwater, and wet soils. Among these are the soils present in underground cavities as caves and chasms where it appears in sandy soils with a variable grade of organic matter. In the province of Jaén there are numerous cavities where plectids, although not the largest group, they appear with some frequency. In this study five cavities of the province of Jaen have been examined: El Jabalí Cave (Santiago de la EspadaPontones), Curva del Espino Chasm (Siles), La Colada Chasm, El Campamento Chasm and La Murcielaguina System (the three in Hornos). This study reveals the existence of five species belonging to only one family (Plectidae) and two subfamilies, being the subfamily Plectinae the most frequent and abundant with two genera and four species (Ceratoplectus armatus, Plectus aquatilis, P. exinocaudatus and P. pseudelongatus), while the subfamily Wilsonematinae is represented by an only genus and species (Neotylocephalus inflatus). The latter is a rare species, which had been cited previously in Oceania (New Zealand) and America (Costa Rica, Ecuador and Mexico), is now found in Spain and Europe for the first time. Furthermore, P. aquatilis is the most common species been found in three of the five cavities examined. Regarding the cavities, the La Colada Chasm, with three species, is that having more diversity.
