The EHS student is responsible for his/her guest and for seeing that the guest abides by all EHS school rules. Failure to abide by school rules may result in removal from the dance and disciplinary action for the student and/or guest. 4. Once students have entered the dance, they MAY NOT leave until the dance is over. Students who leave early, MAY NOT return for any reason. 5. All school rules apply at dances. Use and/or possession of cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs are prohibited. Specific guidelines are: a. All vehicles may be inspected (upon arrival if deemed necessary) for alcohol/drugs. b. Any persons using, possessing and/or under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be detained until parents and/or police are notified. These students will then be subject to disciplinary action the next school day following the event. c. Members of groups that represent our school (sports teams, cheer, dance team, band, tall flag, student government, etc.,) must be aware that any infraction of the rules governing the use of alcohol/drugs is grounds for suspension or removal from those school organizations. 6. NEW- All students will receive a paper wristband when checking into the dance. This band is to remind students of the rules and expectations of appropriate dancing. Front to back dancing, along with moshing, pushing, slamming shoving or hitting is not allowed. Dance movements and mannerisms must fall within the standards of social acceptability and good taste. If a staff member removes a wristband, that is a warning. The next time, the student will be removed from the dance. EHS staff (when checking in) will remind each student what the wristband stands for. 7. Students will demonstrate good character, maintain high community standards, and follow all school rules. Students will respect and be courteous towards all students and chaperones. 8. To ensure the safety of all Edison students and staff, random use of the breathalyzer will occur at all Edison HS dances. 9. All rules and regulations are established to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the students. The cooperation of each student will guarantee this for all students. 10.
