W. H. STARK. Superintendent of Schools
Seniors ,
We live in a period of history which masquerades under many names. It has been called •'atomic, ., "space," "mod," ''wild, II "uncouth." These terms could be listed into an almost endless string of epitaphs; but regardless of what you wish to call it, it is the age of "Knowledge Needed."
By the time you receive this annual many of you will be working full time, married, or in military service and school will be over for yOll, Believe it or not, learning is just beginning.
If we at Purdy High have helped you learn how to learn through life, we have done our job well: if we have not prepared you to
l earn. we have failed. Godspeed. W. H. Stark Superintendent of Schools I
MRS. CATHERINE ESTES Secretary to Supt.
Faculty
This year was one of the most trying in the history of education. Fads, frills, and riots on campus all over the United States caused terrific pressure on students.
BETTY HEGI
Vocational Home Economics
I would like to thank the student body for analyzing these situations and thinking logically about the short -lived fads. As a whole, I think the Purdy student body was the sharpest looking group to represent any area in Southwest Missouri. I would also like to thank the teachers who have worked very hard to bring out these characteristics in students and help to make this a successful school year.

Education plays a vital part in raday 's world. In this age, we cannot get too much education. Every day new discoveries are being made. In ord er to keep up with raday 's fast-movi ng world we have to keep searching for m ore knowledge.
We can never
stop our search. We must strive to increase our ability to le arn and to discover.

From the very first day we prepared for our futures - meaning college , work. and marriage . How can we forget Purdy Hi gh School ? We'll rem em ber what we did and what we might have done . We '11 look back on these past ye ars with happiness or possibly regret. But in the e nd. we'll say every minute was well worth it . Graduating fr om high school is not the end of our education, it is only the first step. There can be nothin g but success ahead for those that decide to make the challenge . The opportunities are there. but they must be sought after. Each stude nt's future will be decided by him and him alone. I make this challenge to every student - set your goals high and tr y with all your ability to reach them . Our thanks go out to each person that has helped us in reaching our first goal - that of graduating from high school. Thank you . RANDY DAUGHERTY
