QA-only Masthead Checklist This checklist is designed to help ensure that your masthead submission meets YouTube specs and DoubleClick best practices before you submit it to the DoubleClick QA team. Please check off all features that apply to your masthead, then return the document to your Rich Media Campaign Manager when you submit the creative. If certain specs aren’t visible in your masthead, please make changes before QA submission. Initial Load
Maximum initial load file size of 75KB with close button.
Pre-loader Image
Recommended pre-loader image - please consult your Campaign Manager for your masthead.
Subsequent Load
Subsequent load file size limit of 1MB with required polite load.
Rule doesn’t apply to YouTube video player.) Added 1.5 MB limit for SWFs; total 11.5 MB limit.
Upon user initiation, progressive download required with videos up to 10 MB. (Flash creatives only. If brand-study pixel is included, must fire after the subsequent load.
Video Load
Combined user-initiated video file size limit of 10 MB.
Control button requirements for all videos except intro video must be implemented:
Intro video has mute/unmute button.
Video longer than 30 seconds: (required) skip/stop button and mute/unmute button (recommended) play/pause button and progress/scrubber bar.
Unit is built in AS3 if YouTube Player component used.
Recommend built-in YouTube play button for incremental YouTube video views. Autoplay video/animation up to 30 seconds without sound.
Animation
Maximum animation length on initial load is 30 seconds.
Only minimal animation occurs when you mouse-over animation on clickable buttons.
All animation stops when you click on background to exit ad. Frame rate is 24 fps max.
Click-through
Every click-through opens a new window.
Every click-through stops sound, animation, and video.
