(a) How measures of dispersion are important 31/2 in deciding the quality of product ? (b) The breaking strength of steel rod is 31/2 specified as 17.5 units. To test this, sample of 15 rods were tested and gave following results : 21, 15, 18, 16, 21, 19, 21, 17, 17, 15, 17, 20, 19, 17 and 18 Find if the result of the experiment is significantly different from the specified value at 95% confidence level for the average breaking strength.
