Regular Board Meeting-July 11, 2016 The Tri-Center Board of Education held their regular meeting on July 11, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Media Center. Board President Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Board members present were: President Jeff Anderson, Rob Larsen, Lynn Stamp and Joe Turner. Board Member Valerie Wham did not attend due to other obligations. Others present were Superintendent Angela Huseman, Business Manager Rhonda McKenzie, Technology Director Matt Schmitz, Athletic Director Cassie Harris, Principals Diane White and Chad Harder, Maintenance Director Mike Newman and Julie Fischer. Motion by Larsen with a second by Turner to approve the agenda as written. Motion carried 4-0. Motion by Stamp with second by Turner to approve the consent agenda with correction to previous meetings minutes. Motion carried 4-0. Under Administrative reports information was shared regarding:  Technology for 1:1 implementation  Harold McKercher memorial service information  District Baseball  HS/MS Scheduling  MTSS-Multi Tier Support System  IWCC meeting regarding teaching requirements for English Comp  Board Policy update  List of Building Projects and priority for each Motion by Turner with second by Stamp to approve the Elementary Playground update costing not more than $45,000. Motion carried 40. Under New Business, motion by Larsen with second by Turner to accept the resignation of Amy Dau as High School Sped Associate for 2016-17. Motion carried 4-0. Motion by Turner with second by Stamp to approve hiring Dillon Stane as ½ time Assistant Football Coach for 2016-17. Motion carried 4-0.

Motion by Stamp with second by Larsen to approve the second reading of Board Policy sections 500 and 600. Motion carried 4.0. Motion by Turner with second by Stamp to table the special election resolution until a later date. Motion carried 4-0. Motion by Larsen with second by Stamp to hire Sherry Wilson for 20162017 as second grade teacher. Motion carried 4-0. Superintendent/Board Goals for FY2017 were discussed. Motion by Larsen with second by Turner to approve the 2017 Legislative Priorities. Motion carried 4.0. Motion by Stamp with second by Turner to increase lunch prices per state requirement. The prices will be HS/MS-$2.90, Elementary-$2.55 and Adult$3.45. Motion carried 4-0. The 2016/2017 product bids were opened. Motion by Larsen with second by Stamp to accept the Land of Lakes Bid for milk. Motion carried 4-0. Motion by Larsen with second by Stamp to accept the bread bid from Bimbo Bakeries. Motion carried 4-0.

Motion by Turner with second by Larsen to accept the fixed price fuel bid from Farm Service in Harlan. Motion carried 4-0. Motion by Turner with second by Stamp to accept the tire bid from Neola Tire. Motion carried 4-0.

The August meeting will be held on August 15 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Board Room. Motion to adjourn the meeting by Larsen with a second by Turner at 8:23 p.m. Motion carried 4-0.

President Anderson declared the meeting adjourned at 8:23 p.m.
